I tried to capture the essential, my words are NOT quotes, but my own formulations of what I heard. Please keep in mind that it´s a radio talk show, so not meant to be written down word-for-word...
* Good morning, have you trained today already?
Thank goodness, not yet.
*Where do you keep your medal?
Its at home in Borovany, alone on a shelf...well, along with the two other smaller medals from Euros, the gold from the Sp and bronze from the LP.
*Sometimes a sportsman sells his medal...How much would you sell yours for?
I am not thinking of selling mine, so there is no price.
*But what do you think about it?
I think that it is every person´s bussiness and own choice, but for me this medal represents all the hard work and training, and for that it is worth much more than the money I could get for it.
*How many congratulations did you receive?
A lot, a lot of smses and I even got one from the government.
*Did any of them suprise you? the government one?
Well, some of them did, expecially the one from the governement...but ppl explained to me that its normal and that our governement closely watches the sportsmen that represent our country at European and World championships.
* Thats a good government... Yes, it was pleasant...
*So, what is your opinion about the government?
I dont comment on politics, I dont want to get mixed up in it, but the congratulations made me happy.
*So, Tomas, has the medal inceased the attention ladies are paying you?
Well, I dont know if its due to the medal, but yes, there has been more attention than before...And I like it.
*How does it work? Smses, emails...?
Yes, smses and emails as well, but not so much, because I try to keep my privacy private, my phone number is not posted on my webpage, neither is my email address.
*I´ve heard that you have a steady gf...
Yes, I do.
* But often when one becomes famous, its time to make a change...
But that is not my case, I am not planning on changing my gf and I only hope that she wont change me, because its not easy being with me.
* And what is she like? What does she do?
My gf Martina studies Economics (at college) and she also skates, as well as a lot of other sports - skiing, diving, tennis.
*But thats not important...is she rich?
(laughs) No comment.
*But rich and intelligent as well is very rare...
Yes, she´s an exception among...
*now be carefull what you say...
(laughs)...so, I wont finish my sentence...but she is beautiful and intelligent.
*Ok, time for the quick question-quick answer... *champagne or vine? champagne
*good food or average sex? I dont know average sex
*paroubek or topolanek (politicians) no commnent
*Madonna or Ivan Mladek? definitely Madonna
*DVD or book? a complicated question..but DVD
*Money or fame? neither
*Sex toys - yes or no? (laughs) why not...
*Alcohol or hot chocolate? hot chocolate
*Abstinence or a prostitute? abstinence
*Hm, fame or money, you said neither...am I supposed to believe that?
Yes, you can believe me...money and fame corrupt the character...
*Wow, are you really this deep at your young age? *So, you are not really after fame...then what are you after?
Well, my own feeling of satisfaction and also reaching my goals..because when a person is satisfied with himself, he doesnt really need the fame...money is always good to have, in our society where money is only the first important thing..
*and fame? is it pleasant?
yes, of course it is very pleasant, but it is also known to dissapear in an instant
*oh?
well, at least in the sports world it works this way
*oh...so what phase of fame are you in now?
well, i am on my way up now, because this was my first big success and now I would like to stay up there on the top
*so, does that mean that the phrase about fame being unstable was just something you read somewhere?
well, no...I know some sportsmen, also from our (fs) world and I know how fast they are forgotten...so I do know something about this, though not from personal experience
*can you make a lot of money by fs, say like in ice hockey?
no, definitely not, because the money you make you put back in fs.
*you were formerly a football player, right? (soccer) yes, I was...
*Why did you not stick to football, since they make much more money there? Why did you pick fs over football?
Well, because of girls. There are beautiful girls in our sport..
*some woman soccer players are beautiful too...
yes, i know, like for example my university´s womens soccer team captain...But its better in FS..football did have its charm, but this was a decision I made and I dont regret it and I dont think I ever will.
*Do you sometimes go play football?
In high school I used to, to get out the energy, especialy when i was annoyed at having to be at school the whole morning, but now its ok...
*its ok, you wont try to knock something down here at the studio, will you?
(laughs) of course not.

*Is fs a safe and healthy sport?
Neither...definitely not safe...
*Your father is a doctor..what do your parents think about this dangerous sport? My father is a doctor, my mom a nurse..well, the danger comes with it, I guess...they had to get used to it..and they take maximum care for me, so that when I end my eligible career I wont be on a wheelchair
*You´re twenty, right? So, what will you be doing in five years? How long will this go on? I dont know...but I do know that I want to participate at the Vancouver Olympics.
*And then? We´ll see.
*And when you stop skating, what wil you do? Well, I want to work like a normal person?
*Really? Thats quite rare around here...To work normally...What would you do? Well, my dream job is a psychologist, I would like to work as one and help people.
*Thats nice...and are you getting ready for it in any way? Well, I am studying a sports oriented university now, but when I finish it, I would like to study psychology.
*Well, good luck..
*I was wondering, do you still weight that 68kilos? And what do you do when you need to loose some weight?
Well, now I weight 71 kilos...
*You gained weight? (laughs)
*So, what does a figure skater do when he needs to maintain weight during a competition? Well, during a competition its really hard, because the organization commitee always takes very good care of us and there is plenty of everything...But at home I train in Prague and I live without my parents, so there is not that much food and sometimes I have nothing to eat...
*oh? here, have my bun...
no thank you, I actually had breakfast before I came here, which is exceptional...But in general I do have to watch my weight, because every kilo, half kilo has impact on my landings and my overally condition...you have to skate around with it..
*another question - when you need to loose weight, would having more sex help?
(deep breath) i had to take a deep breath now, because really, I have no experience in this, never heard of this theory, when a sportsman needs to loose weight.. (moderator jumps in)
*Tomas, try sex once in a while, it helps.
*And now for questions from our listeners...
"Will you consider a commitment in a revue?" Well, thats a question for the future...but overall, there has been a decline in revues...
*really? a decline? nowdays, there are shows...but revues are not so many as were
"Do you know Plushenko and what do you think about him?" I know him well and I consider him to be the best figure skater in the past few years.
*Did you get around to learning something from him yet? Not yet, because he´s so good that iot takes me much longer to learn something from him than for him to learn something new.
*You´re younger than him, so perhaps there is a chance that you could beat him? well, that is a very big goal, but yes, I will try it.
*Do you have his number? (laughs) not yet.
*When was the last time you were in Karvina (a town)? About 2-3 years ago, I think...but it was for month.
*well, here is an interesting sms from a girl in Karvina:
"Tomas, how many girls did you go to bed with and what number was I in that line?"
Well, I may seem confident in public, but really I am quite shy in these matters...so maybe you can give me the number and I will tell her the answer by sms.
*How much does fs cost?
A lot, really a lot. And sponsors are hard to find...and I am still waiting for a big sponsor to come after my success at Euros, I would be very grateful for him. But no one has come forth yet.
