Team GB has 2 spots in the Ice Dance. If they are sending the 2 couples who finished 1st and 2nd in the National Championships, then that seems pretty fair to me actually. eliott is skating for britian, did he win the british championships? Is that fair or does it suit u? its all a pile of crap

Very interesting assessments from Olivier Schoenfelder on their website about who will succeed him and Isabelle as World Champions (in French, of course). The 2 Russian couples are the only Europeans he mentions in his top 5. Reading between the lines, he gives the nod to Davis/White. Fascinating ...

Is that fair or does it suit u? its all a pile of crap Rory, we all think it is strange. Florida isn't the enemy here! He wants what's fair. Sending 1st and 2nd place (if 2 places are available) at Nats makes sense to me. For some reason NISA used points to allot Mark & Chrissy a place at Euros above Pippa & Phillip who were 2nd at Nats. I was happy for M&C to be given the chance, so I didn't complain. I often feel the British judges get it wrong and that perhaps relying on the scores from international events prior to Nats, and adding scores of Nats would better determine who goes to both Euros AND Worlds. "In the High Court on Wednesday 18th March 2009, Lord Justice Eady ruled that, under contract law, Elliot Hilton is entitled to be selected as the Senior Men's Singles Figure Skating representative for the 2009 World Championships. Justice Eady declared that the Qualifications Standards document published on the NISA website in September 2008 was contractually binding on NISA and therefore their decision to ‘move the goal posts’ later by issueing a modified selection criteria was an unacceptable attempt to influence the decision in favour of another Skater. The result of the change in the selection criteria meant that Elliot Hilton, who was originally met the selection criteria for the World Championships, was superceded by another skater, Matthew Parr, who did not. " The High Court Judge said: As far as I am concerned, so much damage has been done to British skaters and the reputation of British skating, that those members of NISA’s board who played any part in changing the selection of skaters mid-way through the season should carry the can, admit they were wrong to take the action they did and resign immediately. NISA owe £45,000 (where do you think ttaht will come from?) for not having insurance and to pay claimant's costs. Editor Scott Waller said: While many NISA members may think that the entire board should have resigned immediately after the case, no board member resigned at the emergency meeting on Friday (March 20). Instead much of the meeting was spent discussing which existing members would be standing for re-election at the board elections in May. www.iskatemagazine.com

I too have a feeling that Davis & White will be very hard to beat, the U.S skating websites are really giving them a big push. I think they are fantastic skaters but they are not in the league of several other couples (S&J of being one !). I think the crowd will have a HUGE say in where the medals go (wait for muted applause for the Russians). On the subject of what to eat while watching skating, PIZZA, CHOCOLATE & A STIFF DRINK !!!!. Good luck John & Sinead

However, their performances just tend to wash over me. They don't involve me the way S&J do. It will be interesting to see how DomShabs hold up ...
