Thanks all for the news and pics! it's so great to see Stephane back competing! it was a decent start even with the fall on the Quad.
No 3A, but well ya know...and I noticed he did a 3F in the SP instead of his usual 3LZ...is he having problems with the Lutz?

Can only agree with what Reut said, I think the selection of photographs shown with articles so far is quite poor. There was definitely an overall happy feeling after the programme. And what a programme it was: IT'S REALLY AMAZING!!! There was so much support, many banners and Swiss flags everywhere, it was a great atmosphere and everyone was just completely blown away by this SP. His spins were superfast and the step sequences just incredible. The music kept getting faster and faster and Stéphane kept perfectly to the beat.

A very, very small collection of my approx. 1800 pictures from today is online at twitter.com/silviaulenberg . Many more pictures will be posted tomorrow and Saturday and Sunday at www.photoya.de and www.stephanelambiel.de . It was a wonderful SP, I'm still impressed and very thankful that I have been able to watch it live. Allez, Stéphane!

What a shame the swiss tv vid is only available in Switzerland...
Well, I am in Oberstdorf and was pretty impressed by the short program, and the costume too, even though the Ukranian ladies behind me were making fun of it all the time. I talked to Stephane in the mixed zone afterwards (or listened in mainly) and it was very cute when he descibed his costume (he was looking down on himself as if to check). And as he was asked about the Tell theme he made some jokes, like "I wanted to put some comedy in, but I didnt want to put an apple on my head." He seemed very relieved and relaxed, smiled a lot and made no attempt of walking away to the extent that the reporters had problems thinking of still more questions. I of course forgot what I wanted to ask him (it only came back to me later), well, maybe tomorrow.

thanks for the pics and vids. About the program: L-O-V-E I-T Above all, that humoristic part the footwork and spins are amazing. About the jumps... there's time to improve

It's lovely. Looks fresh, light, fluid and humor was subtle, not enforced. The music cuts are great, especially music change during sit spin, very nice. I liked it felt one minute long, never mind the fall. And that there wasn't stereotypical moves like horse riding and so. Stylish and entertaining. It could be a winning program if the jumps are there *sigh*. I hope he will show it as exhibition.

it's been 3 hours since I'm sitting in front of my computer following the discutions on the forum....thinking what to post about the program and everything that's been happening and I arrived to...NOTHING that someone wouldn't know. You all already said it...AMAZING as everything Stephane does. For me, he's like a "Michael Jackson" on the ice, I mean unique, his programs are like a story (the movements, the look of his face, the costume everything must fit and go well together), not just "a program". I just had a hard week (moved to another country, different language, different people, going to univercity - my life changed quite much in a short period of time) but when I entered here and saw the news it was so refreshing, my smile came back I enjoyed all the photos, but seeing Stephane's mother there touched me deeply, they are so close. Thank you all! thanks to Stephane! I hope he will also do great tomorow

Love it. That really was the shortest 2'50" ever - it just flew by! The only thing I'm a touch disappointed about is that he gets all the jumps out of the way so quickly. It's a little front loaded, and I miss some of the choreographic MITF details that we usually get at the beginning and between jumps. Aside from that though - costume's great, music's great, choreo's wonderful... and the skater is just, well, we're all gathered here for a reason. Love the kind of languid, lyrical style of the circular steps, then contrasted with the infectious energy of the straightline. A little more mileage, and I can see the straightline being an all-out romp by the time the Olympics roll around. Love how his steps beat out the dotted-rhythm of the music at the beginning (of the SlSt), but, moreover, how he captures not just the rhythm, but the spirit of the music. And how many other skaters can keep up with this tempo in both the steps and the spins? The program didn't entrance me immediately the way Dralion or Blood Diamond did on first viewing, but it's a grower. I like it more and more each time I see it. It feels fresh, and there's just enough of both whimsy and wit. I can't wait to see it (and the jumps!) develop. Fighting, Stéphane!
