Thank you Stephanie for info! Seems that this price had in Switzerland's german part bigger coverage. Just a bit of a Chan's Interview: Thank you Sigrid, it's interesting. Poor Chan, swears to God, that he forgot Joubert. And he forgot also Plushenko, who got lately in St Petersburg Cup for his SP 95.05.

And he forgot also Plushenko, who got lately in St Petersburg Cup for his SP 95.05. You said it all... in St.Petersburg. I won't believe these marks until I see the program, Plushenko has great jumps, but his transitions and choreo are so poor IMO. I've also read that he got 164 points in the LP with a fall, a hand down and slow spins

The announcement of Eisgala Basel mentions that this show, including Stéphane, Alexej Yagudin and others!), will also go on tour "overseas". www.carre.ch/index.php?eisgala-basel-veranstaltungWhatever "overseas" means, I didn't know if I should post this in the gala threads Asia or America, but I cross my fingers so that as many of you as possible will be able to see it.

Great news, stephanie2006, thank you. I wonder when this "overseas" can happen. It can't be before Olympics, I suppose...

Le Nouvelliste, 14.09.2009 Promouvoir la qualité suisse img193.imageshack.us/img193/2277/nouvelliste1409.jpgVery short summary: Stéphane was at an event about "bringing cows down from the alps" with Jean-Claude Biver from Hublot. He answers three questions about being there and about cows. Better translations are welcome This is probably the first time he was ever asked what cows mean to him

Thank you for article stephanie! There was silence for a while in swiss media about Stéphane, but now it's nice to see him participating in such an event. Reut - thank you for translation! So Hublot is not his sponsor any more... but it's even better, if they are friends.

I must say that walking on the Alpine meadows while listening to the cows' bells was one of the most nice and relaxing experiences I've ever had. So me too, I absolutely love Swiss cows. (And they give milk of the Swiss chocolate too! One more reason to love them). I also love cows, especially those brown alpine cows. The have the most beautiful eyes of any animal. My grandfather used to joke that the difference between cows in our region (black and white cows) and the "mountain cows" is that our cows produce milk and the alpine cows yield drinking chocolate. ;D Great find! I guess Stéphane wasn't aware of this.

Thank you , Stephanie & reut Pia , We see Hublot is still his sponsor in his official site . My grandfather used to joke that the difference between cows in our region (black and white cows) and the "mountain cows" is that our cows produce milk and the alpine cows yield drinking chocolate. ;D ;D

that's a very good translation, reut thank you stephanie, also thank you for the news I'm glad Stephane has some time to relax and not only thinking about the competition, that's good for his mental health keeping the stress away

Many thanks to stephanie, reut and Ramani - for the news, links, and good humour! Inspired with the cow-discussion, I added this symbol of Switzerland to my signature. ;D BTW, in Russian both words 'cow' and 'ladybug' are derived from the same root... As for the William_Tell_Overture version - I'll soon post mine in the Programs of 2009/2010 thread, for I doubt that Stephane could have been wrong...

nike2010, I don't think Stephane was really wrong. He was asked about actual, real Ranz des Vaches, a simple melody traditionally played on the horn, as a music for his program, and I absolutely understand why he don't see it as an option. But the overture, according to the few articles I read, is divided to four parts and one of the parts is called "Ranz des Vaches". It's not actual Ranz des Vaches, it's only a name. You can read more on the link provided above and here again: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Tell_OvertureWe still don't know which parts of the overture he is going to use, but if he uses this part then actually he will skate to "Ranz des Vaches" as he was proposed to.

Reut, it was interesting to read your thoughts. The info of the William Tell Overture is actually useful, but I somehow can't place where Stephane was proposed to skate to the Ranz de vaches. In his Journal he spoke about the theme of Storm... As I promised, I've put my version of his music sequence in the Programs 2009/2010 thread. I really don't know where to post this question: When is the deadline of announcing GP events' participants? I somehow can't believe that Stephane would be left without a spot ... Many thanx beforehand
