Hey Guys I AM BACK!!!!!!
Here is my report about TEB! Hope you all will like it!
Well well guys here is my report from Trophee Eric Bompard in Paris. I want first to say, this won’t be a summary of the jumps and technicks, because I really don’t see that www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/innocent/innocent01.gif [/img]
But I will tell you how I ended up in Paris. It was thanks to the contest at EOI that I was there, after answering some answers and making a sentence ready with the ending “every FigureSkating-fan can share their passion and love for the sport all day and night.” So I won two tickets for the whole Saturday! Happy me!
Friday afternoon I would flew from Amsterdam to Paris, because in the morning I had still an examen to make. www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/mad/2/mad68.gif [/img] Tres suck, but hey I survived! So with my bag and my cousin behind me, I went to Paris! In the evening we arrived and we stayed at a real petit hotel in Montmartre, with a nice view to the Sacré Coeur. We walked through the neighbourhood and saw some really cool stuff like the Moulin Rouge and the little shops in Montmartre were so cute and lots of amazing things to buy. We had a nice evening and eat some pizza, after that we went back to our room to sleep in the petit bed www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/indifferent/indifferent23.gif [/img]
We waked up early in the morning, because we wanted to see some more of Paris before going to Bercy. So we went to the Notre Dame, the Louvre and more and walked around.
So finally it was around one o’clock that I would meet Sean to get the tickets! Jacqueline and Céline were there too (with real real cute handgloves!) After receiving the tickets and taking pictures, Sean needed to go, but I stayed with Jacqueline and Céline and we went to the offical hotel to drink some tea. Sitting there and seeing the skaters walking around made it so real that it was final so far that I was really at a BIG skating competition. www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/happy/3/happy48.gif [/img] At two o’clock it started with the mens free. The rink was big (well I only was in De Uithof, so compared to that almost everything is big) and I had seats at the third row. The mens is my favourite field, so I was really hyper to see all those great skaters for the first time (except for Alban, I saw him already at Junior World 2004).
The first one the skate was Alban Preaubert, he still doesn’t make such a great impression on me. I love his exhibition programs, but in the competition still not much love for him.
I was very exciting to see the other French man Samuel Contesti, I had high expectations from him. But he didn’t had such a great impact on me when I saw him. I thaught he was more ‘artistical’, stronger. But nops, I still have my own Petit Frenchman www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/happy/3/happy32.gif [/img] .
And then finally Silvio Smalun came on the ice. One of my favourites! He started pretty good, but what I was already afraid of happend, in the middle he went with the jumps more ‘down’. I was glad that I saw him for the first time live. A great guy!
In the second group was the third French man, Brian Joubert. He was the first one of the group to start. The crowd was really HYPER when he was ready to skate. I already saw the program at soulseek, so I was curious how it was in ‘real’. Brian came really strong and powerful over. His jumps ofcourse are high and strong. But still seeing that part of him doing that shake thingy before the footwork, it still made me laugh so hard, I thaught I would cry! The lady next to must have thaught, that I was going crazy or something. But it is still hilarious that part. After the program the crowd went crazy, some girls were screaming near me and one on the other side was looking really in love waving and trowing gifts on the ice, was fun to see what an impact Brian has on the little French girlies.
The next one was Daisuke Takahashi, a really great guy. But ouch what a performance, fall after fall. It was so sad, his face....... I just wanted to pick him up and give him a big hug! Poor Daisuke. I clapped so loud if I could to make sure that he was strong enough to put it through. It was impresive to hear everybody cheer for him. Hope that he is all right and will come back strong, because I love to see him soon again, but then happy.
And then the two favourites of my came Emanuel and Johhny! Sadly enough the free for Emanuel was Grrrrrrrrr, but I was really happy to seen him live. He is so gorgeous! My o my, tres joli! But I was still happy that he was third. (hoped second, but never mind ;-) ) . And then Johnny! To die for! Saw already his free on the computer, and seeing it live was great. I was releaved that Johnny won! Little party! Loved the men!
But talking about the men, I was a little bit confussed because I found that the guy who was doing the resurfacing of the ice, was looking a lot like Damien, but then with super short hair and more musculear, I was 10 minutes thinking about it, but then came the question: Why would he do that? So I put that thought aside, but I think it is still strang! www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/confused/1/confused71.gif [/img]
After a little break the Free Dance of Ice-dancing started. My second best category!
Really great to see the couples for the first time, I loved Igor Lukanin! He is cute! Yes girls ;-) He is! Fraser/Lukanin skated to Gotan Project (like last season I believe). Don’t have pictures of them, was to busy with looking! Such a shame!
The couple Scali/Faiella were great to see, also Delobel/Shoenfelder. Ofcourse the highlight was to see Denkova/Staviski! OMG, I love there Free Dance. The costumes I love even more in the real and the pose from that one picture is amzing to see! So weird to see first the dance, at him behind your laptop and then in real in a big ice rink with all those fans! After the Bulgarians came Navka/Kostomarov. Navka is a real diva on the ice, really lovely! Was sweet to see them also.
After the Mens and Ice-Dance there was a big break and we went for dinner with Sean, Hiro, Jacqueline and Céline. During dinner, Helga came by to have a little chat. But we needed to go back already for the evening part of TEB, because the Ladies and Pairs we almost to start.
In the catergory of the ladies the little Dan Fang, was really cute to see, liked her style and her costume.
Marchei did it pretty well, I saw here performance of NHK (ouchh) so I was releaved that she did so her best. I loved her little training jacket what she was wearing at the warming-up, white and at the back with red glovertjes VALE. I want also something like that! But then with FRANSJE www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/cool/1/cool27.gif [/img]
Carolina’s program is so fairytall. Loved to see her. Great girly! Had some nice Italian people next to me, who where cheering really loud with me! The costume of Carolina is sweet, was happy to she her doing so well at the TEB.
After the ladies, the last discipline Pairs came. Amazing to see the big names, those lifts and the throws, Waaaaw! Still scary to see it, but it is amazing.
I didn’t see the medal ceremony of the the ladies and Pairs, because we needed to catch the metro back to the other side of the city.
The last day, Sunday, I went with my cousin back in the town to first La Defense, but it was really foggy. So when we arrived at the Eifel Tower, well..... we only saw an half one! LOL, at the top it was just one big white fluffy cloud. At four o’clock we took the metro back to the airport and were already going back to The Netherlands.
It was really great to see all those skaters and the programs from close by. The atmosphere is great in the rink, the skaters giving all there power, the joy, the sadness. I was really happy to see it from close by.
And not only seeing the skaters, but also meeting you guys from the MB was great! I hope you all liked the chocolate ;-) and received my last sms. I think I need to safe more money and make sure that I don’t shop that often any more, because it is really addicting to see figure skating live ;-) I really loved the mens, loved paris and still love figure skating!
P.S. I made some pictures. Here is the link!! overduin.xs4all.nl/~damiendjordjevic/TEB/pictures_trophee_eric_bompard.htm
