I'm just trying something. Never opened a thread before. Is everybody allowed to do that? I'm downloading some songs Stéphane skated to and I read that freefall mentioned that Stéphane makes her appreciate songs she didn't like before. So I thought perhaps we like to share with eachother links to songs/music we would like Stéphane to skate to. I have confidence in the taste of you all that I might enjoy such songs too and find new music through your suggestions. And perhaps Stéphane likes to drop by sometime to read our suggestions. Or is this a kind of topic that is not suitable to this forum? But hey, if I don't try, I'll never know. My first suggestion for Stéphane to skate to, is: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAJb_fHwWG0&feature=relatedJon Allen - In your light It's a bit of a challenge because the song is kind of lay-back. But if the lyrics touch him as much as they touch me, I'm sure he will create a beautiful performance to it. He's becoming more detached from letting it be a kind of competitionprogram and getting more free in finding his own style. Salut, Annelfie

Thank you very much for this thread, annelfie! I remember discussing this topic a quite long time ago on this board but can't find where it was... Yes, Stephane mostly picks the music pieces I never heard before or which are not to my taste at all or the music I can't imagine him skating to and then creates such wonderful performances to these pieces that I come to love the music as well. So far there was only one exception for this rule - Bring Me To Life, I already loved this song a lot. Most of all I like Stephane skating to sad, deeply moving, even dramatic music, preferably modern - my most favourite programs of Stephane are Ne Me Quitte Pas, Otono Porteno, Un Giorno Per Noi, Carne Cruda and Bring Me To Life, so my music suggestions are for this "genre" of his skating (though it's merely my speculation - every Stephane's program is unique and it's hardly possible to unite even 3 or 4 of them into a "genre"): 1. Per Te by Josh Groban - www.dailymotion.com/video/x1d60o_josh-groban-per-te_fun(English translation - www.lyricstime.com/josh-groban-per-te-english-lyrics.html)IMHO it's just one of the best love songs ever, and it would suit Stephane very much. It was actually Stephane who "introduced" Josh to me with his program to "Un Giorno Per Noi" - I got interested, bought several albums of this singer and soon became his huge fan. He has an incredible voice and sings always very sincerely and emotionally which is so rare in our time. 2. The Opening by Saltillo - www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0qRuG43EKYIt's a very emotional, dark and thrilling piece, feels almost like agony to me. If there is a skater who is able to interpret this music it's Stephane Lambiel. I heard this music for the first time in a Stephane montage made by LadyBug and since then I've been dreaming of Stephane skating to it. 3. Something by Apocalyptica - they have quite many songs with deeply moving music and unforgettable lyrics. Who thinks they are just some heavy metal band for teenagers didn't hear them at all. Few examples: Faraway www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPRsTrQA0cUHope Vol.2 www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HieL6a3bukFarewell www.youtube.com/watch?v=zaLoBdqcvVYRomance www.youtube.com/watch?v=5J-L_whkwrMEpilogue (Relief) www.youtube.com/watch?v=042gqz-Dg4I4. Something by Bjork, e.g. Bachelorette www.youtube.com/watch?v=uItDnl4s70EYoga www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHVroArXwA4All is Full of Love www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yh9ZVwWGoR8Pagan Poetry www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1nUC45MKzoShe experiments a lot with vocal and music, so it's a real challenge to skate to her songs. Stephane did it once and it was incredible, so I'd like him to do it again As for your music suggestion, annelfie, I like the lyrics a lot, but the music is just too pop for me. Though I totally see Stephane performing to it at Art on Ice - he skated to several songs like this one at this show and I pretty much enjoyed it

I would love for him to skate to Rodriguez Concerto des Aranjuez, classic music. With his interpretation of the music and all his "moves" it would be magnificent, I'm sure.

I would love to see him skating with one of my favourite songs of all times: Total Eclipse of The Heart by Bonnie Tyler. Well, nowadays I can't stop listening its Glee cast cover. So here is the link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=uc7FIun_85QBonnie Tyler's live performance: www.youtube.com/watch?v=IgRfvWAZw5wAnd sometimes I try to imagine how perfect it could be if he would skate with Yumeji's Theme from the movie "In The Mood For Love": www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZE9HK2HJnIThis could be the first part of the show, then he could continue with an uptempo song which was not that irrelevant with this song.

tonks, thank you very much for making me familiar with the Glee version of Total Eclipse of the Heart! I just loved it And I completely forgot about one more song I want Stephane to skate to - Un Monde a l'envers by Bruno Pelletier which is my favourite song by this singer www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jlf0_5Y5wQIIt's very expressive and emotional, I think it'd suit Stephane's skating just perfectly

Funny, but somehow I never thought I would experience anyone skating to my fave classical music, Concerto des Aranjez. And then Plushenko did at Stockholm Ice. Although it wasn't Lambiel I have to say I enjoyed it.

Though have to say, David Garrett playing Aranjuez on his violin and Stephane skating to it. Wow. What a dream come true that would be.

You mentioned Aranjuez and actually Stephane skated to spanish music too - here, Poeta by Vicente Amigo, it's one of his best programs. www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3lsMXe_bFALutz - I love your idea of Wagner's "Tristan and Isolde"
