Don't forget, those who have BBC1 on their TV, to tune in around midnight till at least 12.15am incase you get the coverage of Sinead & John on the ice at Somerset House. I'm not sure if it'll be shown on BBC Scotland or not, which is the pits. BBC

Gladiator, I said that earlier. Sorry, I did see that, but hadn't worked out it was a reference to Gladiator the film (Enya's Now We Are Free). Thanks

Thanks to Mel's tip off, and my friend getting Flu, which meant I stayed in, I saw S&J skate this great routine on TV!!!!! The music and choreography were fab!! ;D I'm so diasppointed I didn't go down to Somerset House to meet them, and give them a loud cheer
The fireworks were really beautiful on telly too.........just Natasha Kaplinsky spoilt it for me!
THANKS FOR COMING DOWN TO LONDON S & J ;D
Please come again, and hope to see you live next time!!

I think half the crowd were asleep or not used to seeing quality skating live! I have seen this strange phenomenum too, at the Edinburgh Winter Wonderland, where Sinead & John have done death-defying moves (on less than perfect ice) and you're lucky if one person claps. Definitely not a crowd who appreciate the finer arts of skating.

I have seen this strange phenomenum too, at the Edinburgh Winter Wonderland, where Sinead & John have done death-defying moves (on less than perfect ice) and you're lucky if one person claps. Blimey! And that's their home town! I felt hot with embarrassment when I saw and heard the total lack of appreciation from the audience at Somerset House, especially as it was New Year's Eve, and they'd all just witnessed a beautiful Fireworks display on the banks of the River Thames, by the London Eye. What a bunch of ...... And to think, the simplest *highlight* in Strictly Come Dancing - Ice or Ballroom - got such a raucous reception! .....different folks, I suppose. Oooh, and I loved the mirrored figure skating jumps in an icedance routine from S&J! Tres surprising!

The crowd is the general public who don't skate and so know not what they see. That's the only explanation I can think of. Bless them.
