To vote for Stéphane: [votes are closed!] Stéphane was interviewed live from Tokyo, it was 5:40am there and it looked to me that he DID go to bed between partying and now! LOL It was nice to see some bits of today's LP and to hear him. He was of course very happy to have won the GPF, happy of how the season is going so far, and proud of what he achieved in 2005. He said all he wishes from Santa is a pack of good health, "because when you're healthy, you can achieve a lot". They still haven't showed his mommy dearest though. In a few minutes maybe... Oy, I'm gonna get SUCH a phone bill this month!!

And the winner is... Tom Lüthi! (he got 46% of the votes, against 30% to Roger Federer and 23% to Stéph)Congratulations and thanks to him, to Stéph and to Roger for their wonderful achievements in 2005, for giving such a positive image of Switzerland to the world, for being such good examples for all young (and not so young) people and for making me so proud of being Swiss!!

(but of course I would vote for Stéph ) Congratulations to alll three of them! And congratz to Switzerland to have such succesfull and handsome sportsmen! (In Czech Republic we had also these Awards tonight and the winner is Jaromir Jagr - hockey )

The thing is that Roger was "sportsman of the year" in 2003 and 2004, so I guess that many people thought "it would be nice if one of the young new world champions could get the award this year". That's probably what I would have been thinking if I didn't know any of the nominees personally... So as much as I LOVE Roger, I'm happy it's Tom who got it. Of course it would have been even better if Stéphane had won, but for various reasons, we weren't really expecting that to happen...

LOL Don't worry, you're not supposed to know him! (I do expect many people to know Roger, but not him)
Thomas Lüthi is 20 and became World Champion in motorcycling (125ccm) the weekend of COC (see, that's how my "personal calendar" works! LOL)

Stephane has many years to be awarded! So, let's hope one day he has Roger's 'problem'!
