Hi! I'm Ronja from Finland. First of all let me say that I'm so happy I found this site. In my "real life" there's no one to share my interest in Stephane or figure skating in general. Here in Finland everyone just follows ice hockey and formula 1. I'm sorry about my english, I do understand well everything that's been written in english, but sometimes it's not easy for me to write in english, since I'm one of those people who hates to do something that I can't do perfectly. So we'll see whether I have the courage enough to write here or will I just enjoy about your posts. I've loved figure skating since I was a child, but as I said before, I live in a country where figure skating has been very marginal sports until these days, so it was until last February when I first time had a chance to see my favorite skaters live on the ice in "Art On Ice" Helsinki. By "favorite skaters" I mean mostly Stephane in this case Well, it was so amazing that I'm going to travel Verona in September to see "Opera On Ice". Welcome, Ronja ! I think there is no reason to be shy. I understand how you feel - I often feel the same way (about English and doing things perfectly ), but your english seems to be really good, so it would be a pity if you would let that deter you. Welcome also to all others who are new here! I think you will see that it's sometimes a bit quite on this forum (my fault too, as I haven't written anything here for months ), but this is still are really nice place - sometimes people here have interesting discussions (which is a good thing in my opinion), but never any serious arguments (like it sometimes happens on other forums), as we are all real fans of Stephane, and our appreciation for his skating has brought all of us together here.

Hi everyone, I've been lurking for the past few weeks but have finally decided to jump in and introduce myself. I'm Dorothy, an American living in the UK for graduate school right now. I just discovered Stephane's skating a few weeks ago- I always enjoyed watching skating on television as a kid but never really followed any particular skater. Last month I was watching the Sochi Olympics but found I was a bit bored by a lot of the skaters' programs. So then I got sucked into the vortex of Youtube looking at programs from years past- Michelle Kwan, Kurt Browning, Johnny Weir, etc. It was all good and fun until I accidentally stumbled onto one of Stephane's programs (I think it was Ne Me Quitte Pas). And then bam- five hours later watching every single program I could find of his, I was thoroughly obsessed. I've never been so emotionally affected by figure skating performances before. Even when I don't particularly like the music, the sincerity and complete commitment Stephane skates with can still transport me into the world he creates on the ice. It's a bonus that judging from his interviews he seems like such an honest, lovely, earnest person! Plus he has fantastic hair. I am pretty sad that I didn't know about him earlier, so that I could have followed his competitive career. I can't imagine how thrilling it must have been to be a fan in 2007 and see the debut of the Poeta program. But I am so glad he is still creating and performing and being passionate about his art. I hope one day I'll get to see him skate in person. So glad that he still has an active following here so I can fangirl with others! My schoolmates are a bit tired of me showing them videos...
