I loved Karel too, congrats to him! He was amazing. While searching for articles about Tomas, I found one in czech mentioning Karel on Euros. It is titled "Antoher two Czechs in top ten. Representing Italy" ;D >link here< It's about Karel and Ondrej Hotarek (pairs with Laura Magitteri) and tells how they ended up representing Italy

Also about Karel representing Italy.

Sure. Karel’s parents moved to Italy already in 1989. His father is now a figure skating coach and his mother works on a Czech deputyship. Karel went to schol in Italy but kept returning back to Czech Republic for some exams. And last year before Olympics he received Italian citizenship. Ondrej skated singles first, in Brno, 2 years ago he tried pairs with Veronikia Havlickova. He even dated his partner but they broke up in personal and then in skating life. He stayed alone, but then Magitteri suggested cooperation. They train in Milan and Oberstdorf (there under the controversial coach Karel Fajfr who had issues with accusations of sexual abuse of his students). Czech coach Miroslav Man says it is pity that Ondrej left CZ, but here he couldn’t find a suitable partner. They were either too high, too robust or too afraid.

WOW! Thanks so much for that wonderfully entertaining report Katis! Not only lots of info, but gossip and backstage life aswell - fabulous!! The Italian Pair were among my favourites at Warsaw, they are definitely a great addition to the Pair scene, very exciting programmes, and such alot of personality! And who couldn't fail to notice and be impressed with Karel?.........
