Even though they didn't get a medal they were great, they know it and we know it. Next year...

my Bonnie and Clyde review: improved opening...now it really shows that they are sneaking into building...olivier opens the door knob... one-handed rotational lift...strong... (hearing from another review...this crazy lift was called "not so attractive"....um....roational lift of DEN/STA on OD....looks like a dead cat hanging on maixim's arm) slightly out of synch twizzles...innovative guns weaker shooting of isabelle....not so emotional as Warsaw...on the other hand, olivier was the emoional one... in my opinion the slow part in this specific performance was the best... each movement , each muscle moved was dedicated to the music.... (and a low score on IN?!) looks like their Serpentine lift has deeper and sharper turns/curves slow spin ....but again the modification with isabelles arm out to make it more intricate wobbly twizzles...from olivier (all the mistakes were ue to him this year) sharper curve lift....same hold...weaker exit than past 2 competitions... AMAZING footwork...swift....precise....flowed nicely depicted a car chase and finally....the best combo lift in ice dance history... but slow/hesitant on the transition....but who cares....this transistion is extremely difficult! and off the music on the dismount..... and proud and relaxed smiles in the end (i'm glad they are happy with their silver medal worthy peformance...) funny reactions in the kiss and cry... felicitations ISA et OLI merci beaucoup pour vos meilleur saison! je vous aime.... no to make anyone sad....but i have a gut feeling that they will retire soon..... ...................... i haven't seen them live yet....

Nooooooooo! They can't retire, it's too soon. They have too many more medals to win. Thanks for the detailed review 1795. But you know, I admire them soooo much. They are expected to come out and give perfect performances, frequently after being dinged in the scores, time after time. It's hard to get motivated when others who are lesser skaters get rewarded more than you. But still they continue with the hard work, dedication, innovation. That one hand opening lift for instance, is in such a difficult hold. They never look ugly! Plus at this Worlds, it's remarkable they skated so well with Isabelle's ankle injury only a few days before they left for Tokyo. I'm sure it will have bothered her to some extent. We saw clearly their best 3 performances were in Warsaw where they withstood the pressure and skated beautifully after being rewarded for their excellent CD, OD and finally FD. They didn't buckle and deservedly won that Gold! There's more to come, I know. [glow=red,2,300] MERCI ISABELLE & OLIVIER....CONTINUE!!!!!![/glow]

At the exhibition gala Isabelle and Olivier skated a new number to "Io so che tu" by Davide Esposito. They were wearing their tango costumes.

I don't think Isa and Oli are considering going pro in the near future. Why would they do so during a non-Olympic season and while there's still so much to give? They'd have to be really tired of competitive skating or seriously injured, otherwise I don't think it'd make sense... And It seems they're neither, so... I just hope to keep seeing them skate until the next Olympics at least... Loved their new exhibition-program by the way...

I don't know.. it seems pretty feasible to me... and when you go to a competition knowing from the start that you won't get the credit you deserve then... frankly there is no motivation to even try to do it right. Ioana
