The 2nd lift was deemed level 2. There was a negative GOE for the tweezles. It could have been a bronze, pity it wasn't a bronze. I hope S&J aren't too disappointed. I haven't seen the FD yet, has anyone?

Second lift was the combo lift, right? Do you know why the level? I have to watch it again (can't here at work) because it was quite early when I watched it. Looked like there was a little balance issue on the twizzles if I remember correctly but nothing major. The entry to first lift didn't look as secure as usual but they pulled it off without a hitch. I thought they had great energy and I was kind of sitting on the edge of my seat this time--I think partly because I have no idea what exactly they're pinpointing to get their higher levels, I want every step to be exact!! If they received a season's best and got a level 2 on the lift and -GOE on twizzles, did they get the level(s) for their step sequence(s)?? I also would like to add the little top Sinead had on during warmup over her dress was cute. I also noticed she did a little twizzle warmup sequence I guess you could call it at the end of warmup before both the OD and FD. Good way to loosen up maybe? I really wanted them to medal too, but they're inching up closer to P/B which is excellent. Also to make the GPF, skate well in it and put a bit of distance btwn 5th and 6th is excellent. Hopefully this will just light an even bigger fire under them! I think sometimes it's hard to see how such a small 'misstep' can cost so much in dance. In singles/pairs, it's a lot easier to notice. I have a great respect for dancers making it look so easy because it so isn't!! I thought P/B were a little slow but I do like them and am happy for them (even though I wanted S&J to win the medal ). I thought that C/L were chasing the music a bit after their twizzle sequence but I enjoyed them too. I can't get into Vanessa Crone's dress!! I haven't seen the top 2 yet. Gotta run.. have classes to teach.

im not knocking the top 2, but the scores they get are ridiculous, maybe i dont appreciate skating at that level but i dont see how those points are justified!

They are getting higher levels for their elements first off. I think they do have a seamless skating style, however, not being versed [in terms of judging] in dance quite as much as singles, it's hard for me to figure it out.
Fabian has an ankle injury.. I had heard (after they didn't participate in the gala at Skate Canada) that he was injured but I didn't know the extent of it. That definitely has slowed them down and I'm curious how he's going to deal with it for the remainder of the season. NOT the season for injuries. That said, their skating (which I'm sure was out of necessity) was lackluster compared to their usual. I thought they were much closer in the OD in terms of skating quality than the FD.. but again, can't judge it well! I've been watching for timing to the music, edge quality, precise turns and all that but it's much more difficult when looking at the top teams because they're much closer in ability.

I have been watching te FD over and over now, and I love how it still develops sooo much from one competition to the next! Don´t ask me about the points and the technical elements, I look at the development more in the artistic performance. It is so beautiful to se how all the tiny tiny details in expression, both in face and body, are really falling into place now! S&J´s FD (and OD) is so much more "mature" than the other couples...... and I´m not just talking about age... They display "a partnership of equals" in their dances rather than one of the pair being the leader. And, YES, you´ll get P&B in Europeans. Wait until it reeeally matters!

I have noticed that too. As the dances have become more comfortable, they are able to focus more on the expression. I don't know how much of this is purposeful or just natural development, but I agree, it is great to see the dances evolve. I see it more with the FD because I didn't see the OD as early on (minus the day I saw them playing around with the pieces). I was fortunate to see a number or the singles competitors throughout the summer months and it's almost like I'm watching a different program now.

...... p & b , please go away lol .... ...Ha ha! Yes, this is the great problem for me too! I really like P&B a lot..... but.... I really like S&J MORE! MY podium has V&M, D&W and the Kerrs on it, and they are welcome to take turns for the no:1 spot! (..no, wait....I want the gold for Scotland!... ) P&B will have to share 4th with Faiella&Scali....
