This is so great! So nice to watch him skate La Traviata on a full sized rink like that - Is this the performance he did straight off the plane? Because he seems a bit discombobulated at times - he kind of ended his spin early at the end of La Traviata - and at 5:20 it looked like he was saying thank you to the crowd - in Russian! And then it looked like he was going to get off the wrong end of the rink and that's why he was apologizing when he got off - What a trooper - pretty impressive after such a long flight...love the William Tell in that Traviata costume - and what a death drop jump or whatever it's called - he looks like he's doing an aerial cartwheel!

La Traviata in Osaka was really great! So light and elegant! But I hate this split jump instead of axel - IMHO it doesn't suit the style of the program at all, such things are OK in the finale or encore without music, but NOT in this program

I like this split jump very well. It is more ballet than with axel although the axel in Tell is very elegant... hm.. perhaps I like all

This video is awsome. Wonderful audience, great light and encore. And, of course Stephane's perfect skating on big ice. I love the Japanese TV. I like split jump too and other changes, it fits balletic character of the program and more free performance in exhibition.

Yes- I think you are right - What a great performance - he really hit his jumps that night - and so nice to have a version without the commentary. Thanks!

Thank you....loved the performance. Just magnificent. The only things I didn't quite like was the way he ended his spin at around 3:47, the way he did it was a little too festive/playful for me. And I also wish he'd do his continuous spin combos, and the end everything with a bang! That would've been perfect. Stéphane just never ceases to amaze. I thought it'd be hard to top Poeta, but then there came Otono Porteño. When he announced that he was going to get a new LP for Euros and the Olympics, I again worried that he wouldn't be able to match those two programs, but he proved me wrong again and with Salome, came up with La Traviata, which is now my favourite competitive program of his. What an amazing skater. What a stunning body of work throughout the years. With maturity his skating just gets more beautiful every year. I can't count the times I've been stunned and moved by his beautiful skating, but ever since his retirement I can't help getting caught up in emotions and feeling a bit sad every time I watch him. I know he will continue to skate, but what a great loss to the skating world his retirement is. With him gone from the eligible scene, there will never be another skater quite like him. It'll be a long time until someone else is able to combine the musicality, unlearned movement quality, elegance, and that impeccable charm on the ice the way he has. Stéphane Lambiel is truly one in a million. I often feel that he is born to skate and am so glad he chose skating over other things. IMO Merely dancing on the floor wouldn't have allowed him to move as freely and expressively as he can on the ice.

Agree in all your points here. Pity the competitive world has lost such a skater. Because I don't believe there will ever be another skater of his level. He is the only one. But I am endlessly happy that I was given to witness the great miracle of Stephane Lambiel skating.

Elanor, thanks for the link. From what I gathered in the recent documentary on Stéphane, he said that the new program will need a lot of work and preparation and especially repetition and he thinks it will not be "mature" enough to show during the summer galas. BUT, don't take this as a given, I have been wrong before in my life.

miryam, as documentary was filmed before Stephane's spring tour I think, he meant those shows then. So I actually hope to see this new program in summer.
