Thanks for the idea,
iloveprincecaspian! And huge thanks to everyone who shared their thoughts!
It was very interesting to read the answers.
Today I finally found some time to think about the questions myself. So here is what I came up with.
1. When (and where) did you first see Stéphane?Oh, this is a whole little story!
First time I saw Stephane on TV while my sister was watching the men's LP at the 2003 Euros in Malmo. During the whole broadcast I was making jokes on my sister's liking figure skating by saying something like "what the hell do you like about it? these guys just jump without paying any attention to the music! I don't see anything beautiful about it!" (those were really my thoughts about FS at the time). But the last skater (guess who it was
) got me sitting silently the whole program and then saying to my sister: "what a sincere boy! much better than your champions! he skates with his heart, not just jumps around". I memorized his name, but lost sight of him for 3 years.
The next meeting was at the 2006 Olympis gala - You are beautiful. I didn't know anything about his career and was glad that this wonderful "boy" from 2003 got as high as silver medal at the Olympics. But then I again let him slip away out of my life.
2 years later after watching the ad for the 2008 Euros in Zagreb I simply thought that it would be great to see how "that boy" was doing. What I saw there simply drove me mad and changed my life forever. Since then Stephane in particular and figure skating in general have become a part of my life, a very important and light part I must add. And I will never tire thanking God that I was given to see Stephane Lambiel skating.
2. What do you usually call Stéphane? (for example, do you call him Stéphane, Stéph, etc)I call him only Stephane. I think it's only for his family and friends to call him Steph, so I just can't call him that.
3. Which physical feature of Stéphane do you like best?his smile
4. Which element of his program do you like most?Well, he does everything very beautifully, it's hard to choose
I think I like his choreography between the elements the most, because that is what IMO really makes Stephane, what makes his programs complete stories which touch your very heart.
5. If Stéphane skates of one of his programs for your birthday, which program would you request?Ne me quitte pas. Though it's a hell of a choice!
6. If you could give him a present for his birthday, what kind of present would you give?I already gave him the present I wanted with some other girls from lambiel_ru this year - it was a scarf with his name embroidered on its corner, a cake, the book "Ansichten eines Clowns" by Heinrich Boell and a huge bunch of roses.
For the furure I have in mind to present him a medal with the inscription "our champion".
7. If you were one of Stéphane's men competitors, who would you like to be?No clue what to answer, sorry.
8. If you have the chance to talk to him for 10 mins, what would you say to him?I'd probably lose my ability to speak
. But if I didn't I'd thank him for sharing his art with us, for being so sincere on and off the ice, for his smiles to us fans whatever the result of the competition is, thank him just for being who he is - the one who makes our lives lighter and more beautiful. And if after all the thank yous I had some time for a few questions I'd ask him to tell me about his native country and about his favorite city and what he likes about them or maybe about how he and his friends use to have fun - there's nothing in this world like Stephane talking about the things and people he loves.
9. Which gala show would you like to see him in?Of course in any galas in Germany so I can go see him performing and in Korean, Japanese and French galas for the videos' sake - I enormously like the camera work in these shows!
10. If you could choose a song for his new program, what would it be?I'd very much like to see him skate to
Per Te by Josh Groban.
Finally, what is your message for Stéphane? That's my virtual signature for the Wilhelm Tell banner, that's exactly the answer to this question:
Dear Stephane! Your art is a delight for any happy day and ease for the pain which nothing else can soothe. Thank you for who you are and everything you do!
