Thanks for the video, elanor! I think the Japanese TV channels are making a nice commercial for Stephane as a choreographer in these fluffs about Takahashi's EX. So despite I don't see Dai is any good at this program for the time being I am glad that Stephane made a program for him - with figure skating really booming now in Asia he could become more famous as a choreographer only if he choreographed Yu-Na or Mao As for the program being difficult for Dai - I agree, he is not the kind of skater for such a thing. But IMHO he did Amelie almost perfectly for the first time at DOI, way better than he skates it now, so he is more capable of doing it than it seems judging by his performances at the Grand Prix series. Maybe he is just not trying that hard as he can. And besides even if I imagine that that good performance at DOI didn't happen and Daisuke never could deliver this program properly there is still something called professionalism one of the wisdoms of which IMHO is: if you can't do something well one way let it go and try to do it another way using your strengths. if this program was just too much for Dai he should IMHO just give up on it and make a new one which he can perform better.

I went to see GPF last weekend and felt sad for Dai. He was not in good shape (partly because of the accident collision, i think), struggled a lot. I always liked him but am not a fan. However when he fell on the ice in the freeskate I felt so much pain for him, and (of course) began to worry about his chance for medal and gala. Am¨¦lie at GPF definitely was not a perfect one. I couldn't catch the "magic touch" that I enjoyed so much while watching the DOI performance. But still, I was so grateful that Dai performed it, which gave me a chance to see St¨¦phane's work live. I always prefer skaters trying something new - even if not very successfully - rather than staying in their comfort zone, and I'm sure Dai has gained a lot from this collaboration. He must have reason to keep this program and I'd like to respect his decision.

pianomaya, thank you for translation. It was really interesting. I hope they will work more in the future. Interview with Salomé and Stéphane on AS. As the main topic of this talk is choreography, I decided to add the link to this thread too: www.absoluteskating.com/interviews/2011brunnerlambiel.html

Did you see what Denis Ten did to Stephane's choreography at the end of the season? www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1Vi3yH03oM(to compare: that's how it was - www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEMVYgNS944)All the choreography which was so beautiful - it's not remade, it's just gone completely. Denis almost totally stripped his program of choreography to secure good jumps. Of course it's hard to do both the difficult choreography and not to miss the jumps - but I thought this boy knew what he was getting into when he decided to have his program made by Lambiel. ~edited by Mireille Reason: Respect for skaters. It is ok to compare and not like, but some comments go too far. If I recall correctly, Stephane self has stated the choreo had to be changed cos of change of rules. But we never know what is really going on behind the scenes. Anyway, Steph made it for someone else not for himself.

As we already know Stephane worked with Mishin's students in summer camp. He was mentioned recently in few Russian interviews, by them and by Mishin himself. Here is my brief translation: Mishin- This summer your students worked in Italy with Stephane Lambiel. What has he taught Zhenya and Artur?- He has some master classes for them, taught to perform step sequences, entrances and exits from different elements. Showed movements from his personal arsenal, he is a great master, there are things they could learn from him. I couldn't expect how much Artur would change after his studies with Stephane, he made a big step in performance of transitions, and they cost a lot nowadays. www.izvestia.ru/news/499132Plushenko- (they talked about his new choreographer earlier) So she choreographs for you both programs?- David Avdysh, Ira and Stephane Lambiel work on them. With latter we only make small parts like transitions, exists, but not the program as a whole. But some pieces we now put into the program. winter.sport-express.ru/figureskating/reviews/16188Gachinsky- Whose idea it was, about the image of the daemon?- It was idea of Alexei Nikolaevich Mishin, Georgy Kovtun and Stephane Lambiel. ... - What are your impressions from work with Stephane Lambiel as a choreographer?- I really liked it. He has many ideas. And, of course, great plastique, movements. Our work together brought only pleasure. He really helped me with my skating, with performing step sequences. news.sport-express.ru/2011-09-07/461006/By the way you can see the program he is talking about performed yesterday at exhibition test skates: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cSXro8_FDg

Carolina Kostner's program choreographed by Stéphane: www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLixN51Sm5Q (thanks to Mel!) And some words about new LP for Machida: According to Lambiel, music from "Don Quixote" was chosen by him. - I really like this music, always wanted to skate to it myself. - So why didn't you? - I think it's a story about inexperienced person, who still has everything before him. Someone who is in a search of his first love. And I'm not that young any more. Machida could show such image. - How did you start working together? - We took part in a few shows in Japan together, and I was very impressed by how he works with public. I told him I'd be glad to help if needed. He contacted me and this summer we worked for three days. These were the happiest days of my summer! We watched together many videos of this ballet, also those with participation of Daniil Simkin (soloist of American Ballet Theater - ed). I find some similarity between their body complexion, Machida is also rather short. www.championat.com/other/_skating/article-98124.html
