Art on Ice 2011It glitters... and it's gold: 3 to 6 February 2011Lineup of skaters: Stéphane Lambiel, Evgeni Plushenko, Jeffrey Buttle, Sarah Meier, Shizuka Arakawa, Joannie Rochette, Shen Xue & Zhao Hongbo, Aliona Savchenko & Robin Szolkowy, Isabelle Delobel & Olivier Schoenfelder. Stars: Donna Summer, Katherine Jenkins, comedians Oropax and many more. Stéphane will skate two programs at Art on Ice Zurich: "Bring me to life" / Katherine Jenkins "Last Dance" / Donna SummerHowever Katherine Jenkins is not listed on the website for the Lausanne shows. So I wonder what we will see there www.artonice.comMost shows are almost sold out, but some more first row tickets got on sale yesterday. I'm looking forward to meeting many members of Absolute Skating there again like every year ;D

Stephanie - thank you for AOI info! Katherine Jenkins song is interesting - a little bit depressive, intense.

Thanks for the song information Stephanie2006, extra special that it came straight from Stephane! I am so pleased with both song choices, and the cast for AOI is unbelievable. Only a few weeks away now.

Lots of thanks, stephanie and reut, for the news and links! This time AOI is going to be extraordinary - the stars-cast is formidable (well, for me the greatest stars are skaters; then singers and musicians come . Stephane's choice of music is - as usual - unexpected and exciting! How am I supposed to stay alive waiting for such terrific events in Switzerland?

I really, really want to go see Art on Ice!! It looks like there are still some tickets, so it seems possible! I'm living and working in Paris right now, so could try to make it for a weekend trip to Zurich for the February 5/6 show -- but, I'm not sure I can really justify the cost for such a short period of time! If only it was just a weekend later, then I could take off for my holidays and combine it with AOI!!! I can probably do that with St. Moritz, but it seems like a much less interesting show (except for Stephane, of course!) Okay, so what would YOU do? Spend the money and go see the show in Zurich? Or spend my money instead on a longer trip around Switzerland/Austria/Germany and see St. Moritz? (Sorry, I'm well aware this depends entirely on individual circumstances, but I have no one to talk to about this -- you see, my family and friends don't quite understand the importance of figure skating or Stephane...Thanks for giving me a space to spaz out about this!!!

I really, really want to go see Art on Ice!! Okay, so what would YOU do? Spend the money and go see the show in Zurich? Or spend my money instead on a longer trip around Switzerland/Austria/Germany and see St. Moritz? Of course it's about personal circumstances. First of all, do you háve the money or are you going to be in a bit of trouble spending it? Sometimes I so much want to go to a live-event, it seems right to spend my money on it. But on the otherhand, I shouldn't get to carried away, because it's quite some money and not all of us can easily afford that. For me, I have been looking to perhaps go to the EC exhibition, but after a while I realised I was mad to do it. I don't have the energy for it at this moment and I know I want a definitate meet&greet and not hanging around trying and hoping to see or meet him. You have to take that in account too. Is it enough for you to see the show, or how much are you hoping to also see/meet him. I heard Art on Ice is so big, changes of seeing him there are not much. Is that enough for you? I also checked St. Moritz out because it looks very special. For what I understood, it's very, very expensive because it comes with a diner and wasn't it outdoors? That looked magic, but way over budget for me. So if you ask what you should do: I should say: dream about it, look on the internet how the journey would be, where you would stay overnight, count the costs so that you have a real good idea what this dream of going there will cost you, in money and energy. Than sleep on it and be honest to yourself: is this what I really can afford, time/energy/money. Good luck with reflecting on all that! Perhaps I wrote things that are not important to you, but you said you had no-one to discuss it with, so I wrote what I think about it. If it doesn't help you, thanks for reading, but forget about it then. Salut, Annelfie
