WOW! Tom Odell. He is fab. I really want to go to Zürich in February. And Trankov and Wolosozhar as well, and Stephane of course!

I think in Finland it's a problem, that the Art on Ice -show is not advertised enough in various media. A few small single ads here and there. The general public is not familiar with the Art on Ice -show here in Finland, so without huge advertising they'll possibly never know anything about the whole show or at least they actually have no idea what is it about. Finland is large country by it's size compared to many other European countries, but we have only 5,3 million residents in Finland and the country is sparsely populated. For example, I live in the central parts of Finland. From my home to Helsinki it's 400 kilometres and about 5 hours drive by car. By car it costs about 50 euros each way, 100 euros total, by train it would be about 100 euros each way, 200 euros total. Due to costs most people do not bother to travel long distances just to check out for something they are not familiar. They might go to see it, if they only knew it better. So you have to be a real fan to pay 200-300 euros (including ticket) to see a few hours show, if you don't live in Helsinki yourself. And possibly you have to add one night in Hotel, which means you need about 100 euros more.

That's very true, Ronja what you say about Art on Ice being not advertised enough in Helsinki. And it was even worse in Stockholm. In Helsinki was at least possible to feel the interest of local promoters as they arranged a press conference to attract more interest. I don't know why there was so few advertising, maybe expenses were very big anyway and there didn't left much resources for it... And I don't know what kind of advertising would have been the best: tv ad, posters, going to a tv show or broadcast... But still I wonder why Helsinki people weren't interested of Hurts or Loreen? I believe Hurts own concert was full there...? Anyway it was obvious, when I spoke with mr Lindegger right after Stockholm show that they already decided to stop it. He gaves hints about maybe Russia, maybe Japan and I hope they do something of it next year. Russia is good country for the shows but they need to get one good local promoter. And market there is very full, mr Averbukh "owns" the most show possibilities there...

True, advertising Art on Ice is not enough in Stockholm. Most people don't know that it's on and even what it is. Pia, does that mean there will be no more Art on Ice in Helsinki and Stockholm? That would be a shame I think, there are still people coming to the shows.

But in Stockholm it has been quite long - first as Stockholm Ice since 2010, so people should be used already... You say "Most people don't know that it's on and even what it is" - I wonder why didn't Loreen's name attract? Or Hurts? I thought they are quite famous in Europe.

I think TV-trailers might work best here in Finland. I think people weren't interested of Hurts or Loreen, simply because they didn't know about the show due to lack of advertising. I can't say how famous they are in Finland, I can only speak for myself and I had never even heard about Hurts (I'm glad I did, because I liked them) or Loreen before Art on Ice. I asked my friends, most of them knew both, but none of them liked Loreen and only few liked Hurts. Same was at 2013, I had never heard about Leona Lewis, or the other artists. Most of my friends knew Leona Lewis, but none of them really liked her.

And I wonder was the same in Sweden...? Loreen their proud Eurovision winner and all that... But just theoretically - who you think would be a good music star for Finland? There was Jenni Vartiainen but she had just one small song.

I think Loreen is quite well known in Sweden, but I'm not sure how many actually like her. I for one is not a huge fan. And as for skating, it seems most people are not interested. I've been talking to people about Art on Ice and Stockholm Ice but no one was interested when I told them about it, just like my friends. Been trying for years to get at least one of my friends interested in skating, but they are not and won't come with me. I think it's a shame, since we have skilled skaters in this country, just like Finland has.
During the annual horse show in Stockholm it's sold out, I wish, and think it could, be sold out at skating events as well. Me too think there needs to be more advertising, and talk, about Art on Ice. Maybe Swedish Television could send it at least one year so people would know about it and how good it is.

Slowly but surely I start to hope that, one day, Stéphane will have a performance with a contemporary dance company.
