Thank you, taipeifollowers. I loved the part about what is special in live performances, about breathing together and "grasping both sides of breath".
When I talked to Kotaro in Geneva I asked him if he could choose, which musical piece would he want Stephane to skate to. He named something and it was in our interview, but when I sent him the text for approval he asked to take that part from the article, because Stephane said he might actually skate to it or use it with students, and at the moment he wants to keep it a secret. I wonder if this is the "song" they mention here (because there it was not the song, but classical piece).

Thank you for your great work taipeifollowers, jomeku. Sorry that I don't say thank you every time as you deserve but all is very appreciated.
I was curious to read the article about Kotaro and their collaboration and hoped someone will translate. It 's true live music is so special also because it's not perfect and cleaned I take it more intensely than recording even if it's the artist I don't enjoy (I even liked Bilan I would not listen to in hundred years but it did work for the performance). Everything is more spontanous and you don't know what will happen, where this goes. Kotaro Fukuma performs with such attention to skaters and what's going on the ice, it's rather unique.

CHOPIN Magazine/Oct 2015 No.381/Interview Translation : JYC & Taipeifollowers Silver medalist of the Turin Winter Olympics, and now Stéphane Lambiel, he actively choreographer for professional skaters; In the "Fantasy on Ice 2015", especially for Lambiel's reputation for musical expression make fresh in our minds, he has performed together with Kotaro Fukuma's Rachmaninov - Prélude, he talked about figure skating and music. Music and skate is "merged" "Translate" Music is skater of work
For the figure skater, the music is very important in many elements. Because the figure skate is "performance art of music," music has character, nature, through body movements, we "translate" music. Create a new program, and determine what kind of music is the most important part. The selected music must fit skater's own character, so be sure to carefully and make the right choice. Because I want to listen to all kinds of music as possible, so I saved a lot of songs in the music player, every day or when moving the road after getting up often put to listen to. When I listen to music, always can’t help but think about the skate of action in my head. I am a romantic type, and favorite music is also in this category. I like classical composer "Tchaikovsky", the kind of romantic and dramatic music always makes me resonate. "Rhythm" is the basis for the interpretation of the music
When the action before deciding choreographer, I and my choreographer will listen to the songs over and over again, and then we play the songs in the rink, and thinking movements of hands and feet. I always play the music for my exercise the daily (such as ballet / bar lesson).Only to feel the rhythm; it can lay the foundation for the interpretation of the music. This exercise will be conducted after an impromptu practice (improvisation), jazz, pops, classic ...... listen with all kinds of music, training for music perception and try to behave. Music and figure skate is "a big complex."
So far, I worked twice with Kotaro. He is a nuance has diversified the pianist, his passion for music hidden in the depths, undulating and varied. This time our cooperation is Rachmaninoff's "Prelude Op.23 No.5." This song has "two kinds of completely different tone," This is very appealing to me, when I first heard, and I immediately liked it. In fact, I have been performing this song with Lang Lang, but their two personalities, as well as the interpretation of the music is not the same, so I'm also able to try different manifestations. I think the collaboration, the most important is the "personality are similar." While musicians and skater, almost all emotional and delicate people, but on the ice, seemed to understand each other. This ideal relationship should be able to share the enthusiasm, and the interpretation of the music ......, when the "share" can naturally achieve, can produce magical collaboration. I hope the audience can feel the music and skate, not two separate individuals, music and skate is "a big complex." -End-

taipeifollowers, thank you so much, it was always so interesting for me to understand how this magic of "embodying", "visualizing" music happens.
