sport.idnes.cz/o-postupu-do-finale-se-verner-dozvedel-z-esemesky-f7o-/sporty.asp?c=A081202_110259_sporty_otsummary of important parts: He was up at 6AM to wait for his dad to sms him wether or not he would be in GPF Just at 6.30 he still didn't have any msg, wanted to lie down to sleep and suddenly it bleeped: Congratulations Tome, you are in GPF! Also he says that of course it will take some power from him to do this extra before Europeans, but he says for sure it won't ruin him. The opposite actually, he takes GPF as a prize for his solid work. He also says that everyone out of the 6 competitors can win. Now he's not going to work on anything specific, just to try to work out the mistakes he made in the 2 GP's in the 2nd half of the program At the end they ask him how his quad toe is, and he says that it's doing great, and that especially on that day it was excellent. Then they ask him about 3A and he says, well that one is going even better!

Hi, I'm Na-young from Korea. Just call me "Young".! Grand Prix Final Days are coming, but I couldn't get the ticket A lot of people including me want to go and enjoy this competition but the tickets on sale aren't enough for us because the arena is not so big. I think it's gonna be the first and last opportunity to see Tomas's competition in Korea so the fact that I can't see him in person makes me sad.

Hi Young. So sorry to hear that! I would be crushed if I were in that situation . Hopefully with skating becoming more popular in korea and asia you'll have other chances...

From goldenskate.com: (http://www.goldenskate.com/articles/2008/gpf_preview.shtml) The most inconsistent performer of the bunch is the Czech Republic's Tomas Verner (22). The reigning European Champion finished 15th at last year's World Championships, and could finish in either first or sixth place at the Final. He has put together his most consistent season thus far, harvesting bronze in China and a silver medal in Russia. Verner can jump with the best in the world, but often melts down in the glare of the spotlight when it counts the most. The many-time national champion is still rebuilding his confidence to this point, and this competition will be a test of his mental strength. Physically, Verner is ready to be back in contention, but he will have to harness his demons should he want to establish himself as a favorite heading into the World Championships. Mental strenght... We will see... I'm with Tomas!!

could finish in either first or sixth place at the Final. This is so true. But also because this field in general is close and unpreditable... aside from Tomas you also have two skaters (Joubert and Abbott) who've finished first and fourth in their GP events. In the Golden Skate forums they were saying that drawing names out of a hat is the best predictor for the mens event.
