I hope I'm posting it in the right place. If I am not, can someone please remove it and give me some suggestions how to handle this? (thanks in advance)The superlatives heaped on Stephane's bravura performances and virtuosity are not to be mistaken for some idiomatic generous expressions given out willynilly. The words and expressions of praise (as well as gasps and soft sighs which only Stephane received) from the commentators during Stephane's segments were of an entirely different quality from those describing others, including Yuna herself, I could not help but notice. Just wanted to assure Stephiles that the over the top sounding praises of him weren't just pat phrases. If anything, they were being rather restrained and measured, if not terribly informative or knowledgeable. A pleasant surprise.

The announcer basically introduces him as the charismatic Swiss. Sorry I couldn't catch everything she was saying, as there were other noises, among which is the commentator talking over her regarding the night's program about to unfold. I also beg your indulgence if I get the two female commentators mixed up, as it was difficult to tell at times. The one with the deeper voice (C2) didn't enunciate as clearly as C1 and I guesstimated some of her words and expressions.
C1: Now Stephane Lambiel has come on the ice. This is the athlete that won the silver medal in Torino Olympics, right?
C2: Yes, he is a Swiss athlete, and is 24-years old this year. He will skate to
Otoño Porteño, Autumn Harbor.
(0:48)
C2: From his costume on, he emanates sensitivity, quite a bit.
(0:58)
C1: Stephane Lambiel has begun his lyrical interpretation of the music.
(1:10)
C1: Yeah, he has indeed shown us a jump worthy of applause.
(1:30)
C2: Neat (clean), isn't it?
(1:44)
C2: Stephane Lambiel is a very strong spinner, and he's demonstrating it now.
(2:01)
C2: He is very expressive.
(2:20)
C2: Yes, triple loop.
(2:35)
C1: Impressive how he owns the choreography.
C2: Yes.
(3:42)
C2: He's demonstrating many jumps, isn't he?
C1: Yes, a gorgeously conceived program.
(4:10)
C1: Mr. Lambiel is just brimming with vitality.
(4:40)
C1: Whoa, what velocity.
(4:45)
C2: Tremendous to behold.
(4:55)
C1: Stephane Lambiel of Switzerland has just finished his performance.
C2: With his diverse jumps and intoxicating expressiveness he has captivated his fans, and they have fallen for him in a big way (literal: drowning deep in his charm/attraction).
C1: So true. Right now, this specially prepared KBS rink's 7000 seats are all filled to capacity, isn't it?
(5:12)
C2: Yes, he is receiving so much applause from so many spectators.
(5:15)
C1: Yes. Stephane Lambiel's performance, a mix of tenderness, longing, and intensity ... It was a dramatic episode.
(5:25)
C2: And his spins were incredibly fast.
(5:30)
C2: The union of music and expressiveness, as well as the choreography ... (cuts off)
Tainted Lovewww.youtube.com/watch?v=995xeFYQnp0&feature=PlayList&p=7D8FEB3C1E36EBF9&index=1Festa On Ice April, 2009
C1: The second half of the show has almost come to an end, and we look forward to Yuna Kim's appearance, but the person on the ice right now, though, is Stephane Lambiel, from Switzerland.
C2: The audience's acclaim is really something else.
(0:30)
C1: He will skate to Paul Young's
Tainted Love.
(1:25)
C2: His jumps flow well, and so does his program.
(2:17)
C2: A little bit of a booboo.
(3:05)
C2: It seems that he's enjoying the music.
C1: It does indeed.
(3:20)
C2: Spin is his thing, and it's wonderful.
(3:50)
C1: That was Stephane Lambiel who concluded the program with his famous spins. Torino ... (interrupted)
C2: He captivated them with the power of his masculine beauty. The fall is nothing, as this is a show, as well as the fact that the previous performances have left the ice texture in a deteriorated condition.
C1: Yes. You've just watched the performance from the silver medallist of Torino Winter Olympics, Stephane Lambiel.
C2: The audience's applause is really something, too. To that degree he's captivated them with his power. Breezy.
C1: Yes.
C2: Truly, the audience responds to his every move.
(4:35)
C2: He displayed a variety of footwork, as well as facial expressions, and his overall carriage merited their applause (cuts off)
The Four Seasonswww.youtube.com/watch?v=RRLRg2qhPDA&feature=PlayList&p=7D8FEB3C1E36EBF9&index=2Ice All Stars August, 2009
M: The next performer is Stephane Lambiel.
(0:13)
M: Evgeni Plushenko has announced his comeback, and Lambiel, too, has said he will go to the Olympics.
(0:17)
M: Vivaldi's
The Four Seasons. It's the World Championship music.
(0:22)
F: Great. Music of good fortune.
(0:55)
M: Among his bag of tricks one wants to see his spins.
(1:20)
M: High and secure.
(2:42)
M: Stephane Lambiel's spin.
F: Yes, here it is.
(2:52)
M: Whoa, (so great) to the degree that the word "beautiful" (an unusual word choice to apply to a male) comes out.
F: True. What we've been wanting to see. Spin. Lambiel's spin.
(3:40)
M: A sense of perfection/completion in Stephane Lambiel's performance.
(4:17)
M: Ah, his jumps are really very good.
F: Indeed, he lands them VERY securely.
(4:22)
F: This being his first performance since his comeback announcement, he probably feels the ice differently.
(5:15)
M: Right now Stephane Lambiel is performing his spin!
F: Yes, the final move. My, how very pretty ~~ (This cracks me up every single time.) Lambiel's gorgeous/stylish/refined spin!
(5:38)
M: Perfection, no?
F: Yes, indeed. Last year, the year 2008, due to the injury to his inner thigh sustained at World Championships not healing fully he made the decision to retire. Now he has decided to return (to competition) for the Olympics. His fiery abilities are, as suspected, still intact (literal: alive).
(5:55)
M: To see Lambiel, not only our own countrymen but also many fans from Japan and elsewhere have come to Korea.
(6:02)
M: A replay.
(6:04)
M: Evgeni Plushenko has announced his return, and Lambiel's appearance at Vancouver, too, has been announced.
(6:10)
F: It has been said that Plushenko does not believe in Lambiel's retirement, and that statement is now proven correct.
(6:15)
M: Yesterday, I asked him regarding his gold medal prospects. He replied that the gold medal wasn't the important thing and that he aims to perform a complete program. The problem will be his injury.
(6:25)
F: If only he can overcome that injury well, splendor such as this, the same as his active ... (cuts off)
Ne Me Quitte Paswww.youtube.com/watch?v=2j1V0w1hfDc&feature=PlayList&p=7D8FEB3C1E36EBF9&index=3Ice All Stars August, 2009
M: 2005, 2006 World Champion. The merging of self and the ice,
Ne Me Quitte Pas, don't leave me, by Jacques Brel.
F: He says it expresses the relationship between himself and the ice. That he does not want to be parted from the ice.
(1:41)
M: It is just as if he is acting. It's intense.
(4:21)
M: "If You Go Away" is the English translation for Ne me quitte pas.
(4:30)
M: One wants to say to Stephane Lambiel, Ne me quitte pas.
F: Yes, we ...
M: Not to leave the ice.
F: Do not leave your fans, please.
M: We can meet up with him again at Vancouver Winter Olympics.
F: Yes. In order to obtain a spot at the Olympics he is planning to participate in Nebelhorn Trophy next month.
M: Yes. We can meet with Evgeni Plushenko and Lambiel again.
F: Yes. All season long, men's singles heat will be extremely fierce.
M: Yes. This was Stephane Lambiel's (dramatic pause) performance.
