V/M didn't do anything for me before, but I like that program, music, costumes. But when S&J retire I won't watch ice dance anymore.

Yes, Annis, Pairs and Men will suffice. If Sinead is on BBC or Eurosport commentating after Worlds 2010, then I might tune in for that.

Oh, you are a big fan of the girl-tossing and the little bouncing-boys then ? Commentating seems to be an excellent part-time-post-skatingcareer-job for Sinead!!!! She seems like quite a talker.... (!!!??)... ..... ...I mean, she is good at expressing herself.... Let´s not get too into planning "retirement activities" for them just yet though..... ....you should start a new thread on this board "Suggestions for next seasons OD & FD" so that we can all terrorize them with our wacky ideas !!!!! We won´t let them quit in a while yet, will we? ;D

I'll probably only watch to see where the medals go, and to see the British couple finish 19th or something. Seriously, why can France and Italy - two comparable nations with about the same population - have 3 strong ice dance teams and good singles skaters - whilst we in GB have got next to nothing except for S&J? Men's singles has been dead for nearly 30 years, except for some fairly decent results by Stephen Cousins. Pairs is even worse - I can't see K/K challenging at the top, though our other couple who were at Euros took us all by surprise - look out for them. Ladies - no European medallists since the 1970s - Jenna has a talent, but she's not consistent and doesn't seem to perform well on the big stage. Ice Dance - S&J are clearly the best we've had since Torvill and Dean (if you don't count Barber and Slater carrying on for the 84/85 season). After them we haven't really got anything - Phil and Pippa aren't going to go anywhere, it must be said. I don't konw about H/C, we'll have to see. They were promising at the Euros, but there's a long way to go. Come on NISA - sort it out! [/rant] ;D

I was hoping someone would enjoy it cause there were only a couple of us on and I kinda think I was talking to myself. Haha that's what I thought! And you're welcome.. I am glad someone read them. you can see through to the pure skating! Just what I was thinking. Yes--curious about the PBs.. it seems obvious to me that their program had improved! ETA: Oh yeah! Lanie--love the pic!

Seriously, why can France and Italy - two comparable nations with about the same population - have 3 strong ice dance teams and good singles skaters - whilst we in GB have got next to nothing except for S&J? It must be a cultural thing I suppose. I mean, you britons and us scandinavians are not SUPPOSED to like things like figureskating, ballet, synchro-swimming, gymnastics and such..... The only sports that REALY matters here are football, rugby, icehockey..... ..more "macho" sports. We need to get the men/boys to realize that figureskating is actually a tough athlethic sport and not "exhibitions for girls and gay men..." (I have male friends who SERIOUSLY believe that all men in figureskating are gay, because "there is no way that a straight guy would ever do that...." ...that pisses me off , really!!!!) Perhaps France and Italy and some other European countries are more openminded in that way, art and culture is more accepted.....? ...even though those countries are supposed to be a more patriarchal and macho culture.... I might be totaly off though... ....just an idea, that´s all....

.....what I was trying to say was that almost all of the male friends I have are a bit homofobic, and that is not unusual.... ...they just think skating is girly, and that scares them I suppose. It would take A LOT of guts for them to admit that they like figureskating, and I suppose they don´t have that....!!! I personaly think that figureskating is quite macho and sexy sometimes, and I don´t give a **** what preferences the skaters have off ice.

OH GOD, I´m sorry!!!! I have NOTHING against gay men or women, please don´t interpret it like that!!! I´m SO sorry if I offended anybody!!! Well I WASN'T offended! Having watched the FD I thought John and Sinead were worth more than 95 rather than the 90 they got. I LOVED Virtue & Moir. I would have had them first in the FD, not 4th. I was glad to see Pechalat/Bourzat finish ahead of the Russian Gymnast & her sidekick (and it ALWAYS seems to be just about Jana!). I would have put team Kerr in the top 5 on the FD. I almost dozed off during Belgosto (stifles yawn).
