The choice of SP music made me really happy! I love it, absolutely! To be honest, I've got some fears, but I do hope Stephane will take them away in South Korea... Do you feel his energy dancing in the fast and famous part? - I won't be able to listen to this beautiful piece by Rossini any more without his emotional dancing in my imagination! As for the costume, I guess, for the debute his Carne Cruda costume would suit him well And then we'll see and admire again how splendid and unpredictable our champion is! ;D Oh, I beg your pardon, here's someone very well-known with this very music in the beginning. Please enjoy (if you can): www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwutW1wxCL0

I love his music much as the 'guess my costume' game!!^0^ After the 'wild man' and 'abstract painting' costumes...maybe he'll try the complete reverse? Considering this classical piece...how about a swallow-tailed coat costume lol?

fruitiers, I never read about Stephane mentioning this music. Could be interesting if you (or someone else) recall where it was mentioned.
The more I think about this music, the more I'm excited. I can visualize how the audience stands on the feet at the end of the program, it has so much energy in it.

reut, I read it on a korean forum a few years ago, that's why I started to dream of Stephane Tell . From what I read, there was an article from le Matin (I guess it was just after Olympics) entitled "Je veut faire rever". I tried to find the article but the link isn't available anymore. I'm curious about the story, too.

Thank you, fruitiers. I wasn't following Stephane's news back then, so I didn't read it. I'm glad your dream come true.

Wow, fruitiers, amazing memory!
I flew in the archives for you:
from Le Matin, 21st February 2006

Wow, what a wonderful choice of music!! I'm so excited!!! reut, thank you for the video, I loved it so much!! The audience in the rain look so cute, with those bouncing umbrellas... fruitiers, stephanie2006, thank you for the great insight (great memory!). Nice to know Stephane has been tossing around the idea for so long! Wow, I can't wait to see Stephane's new and original interpretation... I have a feeling we may need to prepare ourselves, because after watching his program, we might never be able to listen to this very famous piece of music with the same impression or feeling, ever again... Stephane may forever turn this music into something completely different with a new meaning in our minds! Hehe Best of luck to Stephane!

ageha, you're welcome. fruitiers, stephanie2006, thank you for "recreating" this story. Wow... He had this idea for so long time, I'm impressed. And I'm glad he found the way to do it. It sounds really pretentious, but, I mean, the story of "winning Swiss", isn't it exactly what we need for the coming season? I'll translate this quote from "Le Matin", please, correct me if I'm wrong somewhere in translation: - For your tour (what tour are they talking about? In US?) you give an original show, could you tell us more about it? - We tried to find the concept for Rossini's "William Tell". But I still don't know if I'm going to look like shepherd (my dictionary told me this is specific Swiss word for shepherds in mountain valleys) or something like that, something very Swiss. It's true, that the music is very comic, very funny, and I'd like to play with this. I'd like people to enjoy it.

Definitely, it's very rarely used in skating. I tried and couldn't remember any program to it, at least, nothing memorable. Apparently Michael Weiss skated to it at 2001 US Nationals and 4CC, but I couldn't find any video.

Wow, Stephanie2006, Thank you very much!! (though I don't have amazing memory. After reading his new journal entry last night, I suddenly wondered if I did REALLY read 'it' or it was just my dream or imagination. So I went to the forum to verify my memory and found the post that I had read at that time, in which was mentioned the article. That's all ) I'm more and more curious about the concept he found finally for the music. I can't wait to see !

Thank you so much girls for finding out about William Tell music. Didn’t know either that he had the idea for so long. Now as everyone else I’m curious to see the new SP. The music indeed is very famous but I have to admit that it’s not one of my favorites. So I’m not so thrilled about it at the moment. But I don’t rule out that Stéphane can make me change my mind once again. I remember I had the same feeling when I heard “Otoño Porteño” for the first time last year. I thought “Oh well… ok…” But after watching the finished program – especially seeing it LIVE at AOI – I really love it.

So I see there is an actual "storm" section in the overture (very funny around 03:05, then the storm section starts around 03:30): www.youtube.com/watch?v=sG2hGSL345I&feature=relatedI wonder if Stephane's "bit crazy" part refers to this storm section, or the super hyper galloping grand finale... or combination of both... His music edit is always so awesome, so this is very intriguing!!
