I don't understand much Oh, sorry. it was a recording of radio-broadcast and goldguegi already wrote in « Reply #143 Today at 9:44pm », what was said. My hope is, that Stéphane said often, he can do this Adventure, because it is limited only too Vancouver. (Although he meant about his life with all therapies...) So now, say goodbye to the painkiller!

Taking painkillers on a regular basis is not unusual in many competitive sports like soccer, hockey or gymnastics. If you google for a while, you can find many examples and medical discussions about it, similar to what was mentioned on that radio interview.

I feared this all the time that he was training on the cusp and pushing himself more than he can (which partly showed in LP). I wish Stephane abandons quads (yes, it probably means no competing anymore). They are killing him, it scares me to see these low landings and how much pressure it is. Plushenko also looked half alive in the competition and he only does one quad now. There is a reason the skaters are dropping the jump considering what it is doing to their bodies. Be reasonable, Stephane. And take some rest.

Do they mention the name/kind of the painkillers? They speak about anti-inflammatory (is that the right word in Englisch ) painkillers, but don't mention any name. Thank you pianomaya! I didn't want to make you cry! But it's a sad story and I was shocked to hear that.

I think that's the prize of a dreams. Every sportsman has injurys, health problems ect. This is part of making sports. Your body has some limits and if you are forcing yourself to do more you have to help yourself in other way (like painkillers). I wouldn't make yet a big case about it. I am worry since I heard some rumours but I think it's much too early to say anything more. let's wait and hope he won't need this tablets anymore.

This somehow really worries me: www.drs3.ch/www/de/drs3/sendungen/drs3-19022010.html (12.00 - 12.20 click "hören"; at about 08.55) It's disturbing to hear that and I wish it's not really that bad! They say that the price Stéphane is paying to compete again might be to high for what he gets. They speak about the painkillers Stéphane has to take to even skate and that they are almost his best friends. His body said stop 1.5 year ago but that he didn't accept this, because he loves his live as a figure skater so much. The painkillers are not good for the kidneys and also the stomach, but that Stéphane doesn't care about the future. He says that he also doesn't think before jumping a 4T that he could break his leg (I think these are parts of the press conference in Lausanne a few weeks ago). The other problem with those painkillers is that they are almost like doping and will probably be added to the list with prohibited drugs soon. Peter Grütter is also worried and says that Stéphane has to stop taking them now, because if he doesen't need the most diffucult things now (like 4T) he probably doesn't need them anymore and it's not good to be addicted to them. And he also adds that Stéphane is not the only one and that nobody forced Stéphane to do so, that he wants it that way. I missed that post and read it only now. This sounds no good... Thank you for translation.

Ladies, all painkillers have this effect. That doesn't mean they are prohibited or dangerous. Medicines have side effect, it doesn't mean you shouldn't take it, because the disease have much more side effects. IMHO, I think we should leave this topic to Stephane and his doctors. I hope his doctors are high-professional specialists and he himself is a very smart grown-up person

However at the end it's always the "client" who has the final decision to agree or not to the suggested proceder.

Thanks, stephanie2006. Do you know more about this program? Why is it called "Guess who comes for dinner"? Or it's just some kind of "meeting someone" program?

Thanks, stephanie2006. Do you know more about this program? Why is it called "Guess who comes for dinner"? Or it's just some kind of "meeting someone" program? Obvisously this program started in 2004 and at first the audience had to guess who the guest was. Nowadays it's a talk but the title of the program has stayed: (Source: www.rtsr.ch/rtsr/index.php?forum=3&post=151 ) I listened briefly to the last episode and it's a really long talk of 56 minutes, no music in between. The host Michèle Durand-Vallade gives room for the guest to express himself without interrupting frequently, only asking questions any now and then. The guest is welcome to bring along a 2nd person to the show

I really hope she'll have some "less standard" questions for Stephane.
