oops, the site did it again Thank you for reposting all the links, stephanie2006! I am glad Stephane got rid of the gaiters - it was the only detail of the costume I didn't like, so IMHO now it's much better It is Proboards, not AS who caused this. And tho I am sorry it happened, it is not nice to see people rolling their eyes etc. Compared to other (pro)boards we can be happy, we only lost 5 days, some lost their data since December. Anyway, AS can't do anything about this, so let's just focussing on regathering the data, ok? I came to post Maria's first AOI pics: absoluteskating.com/index.php?cat=photogallery&id=2011aoisneak

Thank you for reposting all of the links, stephanie2006 and goldguegi The only small thing I had listed was a tweet and photo from Katherine Jenkins plixi.com/p/75076501"With Stephane who skates while I sing Bring Me To Life... Think I have a teeny weeny crush! " I found this so humorous simply because of how smitten Anastacia was with Stéphane last year. pianomaya I just watched your videos and I am so impressed with how you filmed Bring Me To Life, capturing Katherine, the dancers, the video clip and Stéphane. There was so much to look at. Stéphane's quad looked so effortless and perfect. (Also thanks for the sound effects choir video with S/S, it was just- wow)

Freefall, I read your long post about Art on Ice before it disappeared, so it wasn't wasted :-) I agreed with most of it. For me, Stéphane skating to Donna Summer didn't do much either. Difference between you and me is, that most music he chooses, I already like. Although I didn't know Bring me to life. I like the music with a certain uplifting message. And that's why I can watch it over and over again, because through his details, that uplifting message keeps coming across.
Somehow the music of Donna Summer (I know her from my teenage time) was faster at that time, or does it look like that because popmusic keeps speeding up, so that old music only feels slower than it was. In Last Dance, it wasn't really up-beat and not slow, so very difficult to dance to, like you noticed. He's done better disco, like to Stayin'Alive with Robin Gibb. But overall, I miss the depth of the emotions like in Bring me to life. Disco is more for Plushenko to make fun with. He's such a clown, but never looks serious to me, also not when he performs drama. He always seems to mock with great and deep feelings. While Stéphane really dares to go into those feelings and live them and express them. Then he's at his best and outstandingly different from the rest.
I had also hoped he would have skated to Jamie Cullum on the EM-gala in Bern. That he was given a prominent place in the gala, like at the start of the second part and that it would be a very innovating new program. That's what I had hoped.
But perhaps the only way to get permission, was to skate 'before' the gala. Eurosport didn't even broadcast it. Perhaps that was part of the deal, who knows. And now I'm glad it was 'only' Tell he skated. On the otherhand, he himself perhaps chose for a well-known program, because he had been very busy. I've done some television-work myself, it's really tiring to be constantly focused on everything that's going on. So perhaps he felt he wouldn't be as rested as he needed to be to really shine with a new program. And perhaps because it was also a certain swiss celebration (something existing 100years) that he wanted to skate something swiss. Who knows.
Good thing is: we still have Don't stop the music to look forward to! It would have been a lot of new at the same time, now something new is still to come!
Salut, Annelfie

thank you everyone so much for reposting the links! i haven't had the chance to see or download any of the videos from last week, so i'm very thankful though i'm still kinda sad that all the posted impressions got lost oh well me and my friend also made a trip to Zurich to visit the city and of course AOI as well. it was my first time to visit such a high-profile skating show and i was completely blown away. although at times there was almost too much going on and i'm sad i didn't have an extra pair of eyes cause i was fixed on the skating and didn't really see the rest of the stuff they did on the stage. but the skating part of the show was excellent so many great skaters and beautiful programs. we went to the Friday night show. i really liked both of Stephane's new programs, especially BML, which in my opinion created such an intense atmosphere together with the live music (which does not necessarily come across in the videos). Stephane also did a nice quad in the finale. the landing wasn't perfect, but i'm happy he still goes for the quad at the shows my friend also filmed BML. our seats were somewhere in the middle, so the video is not from very close. there have been much better videos floating around, but i thought i'd still share just in case anyone wants to see www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cSbGbIo2cs
