I just can agree; I don't know how long ago or for what Show, but I clearly remember Stéphane who says something like "I'll take part to that Show, but not with new programs because to create a program needs time and energy from me and from people who works with me. I can't change program continously "
I remember him saying something a bit different (during the fan meeting in Bellinzona), that he asked producers of the shows not to ask him to skate different programs from his repertoire (especially at that time of the year when he had many shows and also had to prepare for AOI and for Rock Circus), because it was too much of the pressure to rehearse and prepare all of them. He wasn't talking about creating new programs.
I definitely love the programs he created "not for some specific cause" more, because he could have any idea, his imagination wasn't restricted by the boundaries of some specific artist. But I should admit that some of them were pretty successful, even if he didn't skate them a lot. I always use his program to Dima Bilan's "Trouble" as an example of how I can be absolutely in love with the program even though I pretty much hate the music and the singer. And wasn't his "Caruso" just hilarious in his own way?
Unfortunately with "Hanabi" it wasn't the case. The song and the choreo were pretty much "generic". Though it's always nice to see him on the ice, of course.
For some poll on FSU I took time and counted all the programs Stéphane created since his retirement: he had 18!!! And many of them exceptional, beautiful, and all of them are so different and diverse. Just wow, I'm getting excited each time I'm thinking about it.
