The 'Stephane-parts' from "20 years of Art on Ice":
1. 22:02 2003, Stephane skates 'Tosca' and Supertramp 'Take the long way home'
Speaker: The show on the ice and the show on stage are complementary. They fuse. Stephane Lambiel always searched for and found the contact with the musicians from the very beginning. He started with AOI in 2003, quite at the beginning of his career.
Stephane: "For the first time I was in the top five of Europe's hierarchy after the Olympics 2002. The invitation from AOI was like a reward. It was like 'Ok, now you are good enough to be part of AOI'."
2004, Supertramp
Stephane: "I remember, it was the first time that I skated to live music, with Supertramp to "Take the long way home". With Salomé Brunner we created the story of me sitting on a bench, with backpack, and I am 'on the long way home'."
2. 25:48 2005, Stephane tells he is a huge Michael Jackson fan, he copied Michael's choreographies at the age of seven. And how pleased he was to get the chance to do a Jackson number.
3. 34:20 2008, Ronan Keating 'Father and son'
Stephane "One of the best artists at AOI, in my opinion. Also backstage. He was with us, talked with us. We talked a lot about our number, how to improve it, the connection between the stage and the ice. It was a real collaboration about all the details, to get it harmonious. That's the magic of AOI.
4. 41:07 2010, Anastacia 'In your eyes'
Reto Caviezel and Oliver Höner. C: Anastacia was the one who 'absorbed' AOI the most, she loved it from the first second. H: Anastacia, sublime. I believe she created one of those magical moments that AOI spectators will never ever forget, together with Stephane Lambiel. When they hugged each other after their performance in the opening night. Those emotions and the tears were not fake, they were real.
Stephane: "It was SO emotional. It was really, really a big honour to skate and work with her and I hope to get the opportunity to one day do something with her again."
5. 48:42 2013, Stephane singing in the opening number
Moderator: Nobody would have expected that Stephane Lambiel would sing at the Opening of AOI. A multitalented man.
Stephane: "Oliver just told me that they had a song for AOI and they needed a voice. He knew that I like to sing. Each year at the 'after-party' there's my time to go on the stage and sing. So he (Höner) thought: 'Ok, we need a voice, so let's ask Stephane."
6. 57:47 2009, Otono Porteno, Four Seasons, BMTL, MBiaC
Speaker: Stephane Lambiel skates for AOI since 2003. With his passion, his dancing qualities and his huge expressiveness he captivates his audience and thrills.
If the spark ignites between Stephane and the musicians he performs with, magic moments emerge. And they can be very emotional.
59:50 'Grieg'
Stephane: Khatia Buniatishvili playing the piano. Each time I was on the ice … it was … the world just stopped. And I just enjoyed the moment. I think those were the most beautiful moments in my life, when I skated with Khatia."
1:01:40 Stephane: "I don't know how long I will continue to skate for AOI. But I hope AOI will have many, many, many more shows and will continue for long."
There are many more interesting and nice details. Too long to mention all of them.
Just as an example it's said that Roger Hodgson and Supertramp after their separation came together only for AOI, and never again after.
Or that Donna Summer, in contrast to Anastacia, had problems at first to share the audience's attention with the skaters or dancers. They almost feared she would leave after the first show, but fortunately she stayed and made friends with the skaters and the special situation.
Or Sarah Meier who tells about her experience when AOI had a show in Sheffield. She skated to a Ronan Keating song, and was all surprised how loud the audience was during that performance. She was all: 'Oh, what have I done?' … before she realized that they were not looking at her but cheered for Ronan, who was so popular back home (she tells it with a smile).
Caviezel/Höner at the end say they think for the future they do not necessarily need to get better, but different. They want to create new ideas, a new look for the 'ice-field' for example "which does not need to be rectangular but can get an 'organic shape'."
So, let's see.
