I'm so sorry. Get well soon Stephane! I'm watching the show, maybe they will say something.

He doesn't look well, it's a deep cut. Who knows what happened, jumps and full skating program on such small ice is risky, skaters need to adjust and blinding lights...Maybe they will say something or may say nothing as well, just skip.

They seemed to be quite excited so, I hope they'll say something. Poor Stéphane

They said nothing. But Stéphane posted everywhere on his official accounts about his wound, so everyone was aware. Don't know what happened, I think it must have been a bad fall. Maybe he was tired or just a lack of concentration.Such a shame! I hope he will recovery soon. Guess he will be forced to relax for some days.

They even didn't wish him well? So rude. If Stephane wrote that it was the cut, not that he broke something, and if it was the cut from the blade, actually I start suspecting it was someone else's blade not his, maybe of some of those star skaters who don't know to skate well...
I'm glad he posted the photo, he doesn't look too sad or in much pain there (and has very cute "sorry" facial expression). At least it's his left hand and not the right one... Let's hope he recovers fast.

Yes, good that he has written, it's less worrying this way, with really bad injuries he doesn't say much. I hope its not that serious. The hand will heal, needs a few weeks and must be painful but he should be all right. It must have been a bad and unexpected fall if it happened during rehearsal. It might have been an accident, many things are going on in TV shows, people can leave something on the ice, it is not a regular ice rink with trained staff. I don't think Stephane is not careful and it's not the first time he participates in such a show. Actually, he is usually very focused during regular rehearsal and pays attention to other skaters to not disturb them.

Found this:
It's before rehearsal. He says "Hello everyone. I'm almost ready for rehearsal. See you tonight! Kisses!" (wow, his italian has improved a lot!) Then nothing has been said or written, at least for now. Perhaps tomorrow I will find some articles online about the whole show. Yes Reut, I thought it was rude too. I expected some words from the hostess of the show, usually she's very kind and honest and tells exactly what's going on. If she has said nothing, I guess it has been a mutual choice. For sure the production must have talked to Stéphane, maybe he didn't want to show up with a bandage on his left arm just to have a little chat, saying he was sorry, so they decided toghether to say anything at all. Not that I liked that. About the injury, as Eleanor says, he's usually very careful during rehearsal, he's a professional skater and that cut looks strange to me too. I also think it must have been made by a blade. But I don't wanna blame anyone. If I find out something, I'll let you know.

Absolutely so sad that he couldn't perform yesterday. He would have been such a shining star on the top of the whole broadcast and without him it just remained rather mediocre. Strange that they even didn't mention him but who knows - maybe they discussed and decided that this is the best solution. Looks like it happened around 4 hours before the broadcast, then video-greeting was posted and also a cute pic to the facebook. www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10206244476060617Nothing yet about it in italian media, only what comes out from google is like he had been there... but it's ofc older info.

What a disappointment... and the live stream worked so well But the most important is an answer to the question how bad this accident really was. Please girls kindredspirit and pia, share with us whatever you find. Thank you.

Reut, you're my star! Thank you so much! You're welcome. I saw that style a bit differently. But maybe because I had this perception since 2008 I can't see similarity with "Try", except the golden colour which is the same. The pattern on his back of last "Carne Cruda" costume reminded me of Vincent van Gogh's "The Starry Night" on one hand. And of his love to spirals on the other hand. He had a spiral on his "Truman show" costume ( here). And also, he had a spiral in his black-and-white version for "Tango" ( this one). I really loved that costume by the way, it was simple and elegant and he looked soooo good in it. And it was in good contrast with his "over the top" costume for "Tell". The spiral was "hidden" in his vest, we were supposed to see it while he was spinning (I'm not that smart, he explained this in some interview later ). I think it was about "Truman show" spiral that he said that spiral for him is a symbol of life, of how everything turns in circles, returns to the same point again and again, but also goes up, something like that. Unfortunately I won't be able to find the source. And another costume I want to talk about today is the costume from the program which changed my life. I saw it for the first time eight years ago exactly, today, on March 22nd, and those 4 minutes changed my life forever. I don't know much about "Flamenco" costume unfortunately. Antonio mentioned that he always gives advices for the costumes if he choreographed the program, so probably here he was also involved. And I know that this costume was created in Spain. Here is a video (in German) about Stephane's work with Najarro and they talk about the costume too: www.youtube.com/watch?v=UK_xS3k4vr0And this is probably my favourite photo related to that costume: It was taken after Worlds. And it is from a rather sad article which was published after those sad championships. And I guess I love this photo because I was so sad back then that I had to say goodbye to this program, so I could relate to this "composition" on the photo. But also because now I know how many happy things have happened in his life and how many beautiful programs have been created since then!

From recent interview with Antonio Najarro. Had to bring this quote. Looking in retrospect, is there a program from those you choreographed that you like more than others?I will never forget the flamenco program for Marina Anissina & Gwendal Peizerat, nor the Poeta program for Stephane Lambiel. These are programs that touched everyone so strong and they will always be in my hearth. www.insideskating.net/2015/03/23/interviews/antonio-najarro-i-treat-skaters-like-real-dancers

The Poeta program is unusual and magical. I don't dare to name it my favourite ever because usually my personal ranking depends on my current mood. But I absolutely love it and its intensity. But when it comes to the Poeta costume then without any shadow of a doubt this is the winner ahead of the Otono Porteno costume (the one with the leafs YouTube) I know this is quite unpopular opinion here . Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems to me that there never was a separate thread about all his costumes. I know this board is about skating not modeling but Stéphane often calls himself "a fashion victim" and he always emphasizes that almost all costumes are meaningful to him. I just thought this might be sufficient justification to create such a thread. And you have so many such interesting information, reut. It would be so great to have them all in one place. What do you think?

Thank you Reut for your story and the super lovely picture of Stéphane. I guess each one of us has its own favourite program or costume and at least a story related to it. The Flamenco program was a masterpiece, all was perfect, the coreography, the costume, and Stéphane really looked like a real flamenco's dancer. I suppose his latin origins helped him a lot in this, not to mention he has a talent for dance. I may be boring and repeat myself, but years passed and I didn't see programs so beautiful such his flamenco. I also loved so much the tango program, loved both the costumes (the one you mentioned and the other one more "spanish" black and red, with an half sleeve). Funny story about the spiral hidden in his costume (which I didn't catch of course). Spirals in general have a very powerful meaning, very positive, all connected to life and circles of life, it doesn't surprise me he loves this symbol, as he seems a very positive person. Back to the outfits, if I had to pick one, I'll choose this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMvEQ8hXE5II don't know, maybe I have to blame the beautiful program, but I think he was super charming with that simple costume. Very him. Don't know what you think about it. (by the way, we are really off topic here, but thank you for letting me talk randomly).

Very him. Don't know what you think about it. (by the way, we are really off topic here, but thank you for letting me talk randomly). You do you know the story of that one, right? The small pearls on his shirt represent the "pearls of the rain" from this line of the song: "Moi, je t'offrirai des perles de pluie" ("Me, I will give you the pearls of the rain") I can't say there is one certain costume of his I love. Just like there is no just One Program I love ("Poeta" is special for me, of course, but definitely not the most favourite and only of all, he has so many truly amazing programs). I must say that in very simple clothes, just black long sleeves open neck T-shirt and pants, as he looks in practices, he looks the best to me. So this would be my favourite costume if I need to choose. Gaja, thank you for your nice words and proposition to open a separate thread. I don't know. It's not that I have a lot of stories to share. If I recall something I write it here. But this thread is more active, with news and all. And if we make it separate thread it might "go to past" very fast unless I "fill it in" often, but I can't promise I'll do that.
