that sucks!! here is something Irene scanned , it's from a local newspaper: www.tomasverner.com/eng/pages/articles/AZ%20Tomas.jpg"ready for worlds after consistent training"Trainer Michael Huth about his students... With Carolina Kostner, Kristin Wieczorek and Tomas Verner, 3 students of the in Oberstdorf based trainer Michael Huth will compete at worlds in Tokyo starting Tuesday. "They all skate for different countries and they all had to qualify, I'm very proud" explains the coach and adds that the preperation for worlds happened without any big problems. There is a lot of work for Carolina Kostner right now because of her upcoming final exams, but Carolina seems to be in good form anyway. "She has the form of the Euros, perhaps even better" the trainer judges. The trainer used the time between EC and WC, to change Carolina's program a littlebit. "There is even more movement in the program, which underlines the music even more" It's not only the level that went up now, the program is also worth to see more. Vice champion Tomas Verner was, according to Michael Huth "a bit tired, but we worked hard and consistent and he's on the right track again" the coach ensures. They only changed certain nuances of the program of the Czech, to add some 'fresh air'. "we tried to bring out his personality even more" says Huth, and he is certain Tomas will bring the confidence from Euros with him to Tokyo. he 20year old Kristin Wieczorek surprisingly won German Nationals. Huth especially praises her spins and spirals. "but her loop is also worth a mention" says Huth, who knows that it will be a tough competition for a newby like Wieczorek. She has shown what she can do at Nationals, and he believes that her worlds debut will be succesfull. all together, Michael Huth expects his students to hold on to their level and end the season on a good note. "A place in the top 10 also depends on the performance of the other skaters" knows Huth, but he believes and trusts that Carolina and even Tomas can make it into top 10"

sport.idnes.cz/verner-pokazil-trojity-axel-zatim-je-devaty-fmf-/sporty.asp?c=A070321_111344_sporty_otthese three say more or less the same, describing the programs and results Tomas said he did a serious miskate that is not forgiven in the SP. It has cost him the 3rd place, which hurts. He went for the axel with his knees too close to each other. Realized in the air but couldn’t do anything with it. So he rather singled it, cause if he tried to save it triple it could have been underrotated and probably a fall. Then he tried to concentrate, which was difficult cause if he had done another mistake he could „pack his goods and chettels and leave the rink straight away“. But luckilly the rest was good.

www.usfigureskating.org/event_story.asp?id=38041Verner is well on his way to being the new heartthrob of men's skating. Oh, yeah, and he can skate. The Japanese girls showered him with stuffed hearts throughout the competition, and he paid them back for their devotion with the best free skate of his career.
“I was so surprised about my technical score, over 84 points,” he said. “I didn't expect that.”

don't feel bad about it, he just meant that among the audience there are always less czech people than from other countries, jutst this and maybe he wanted to underline that this sport is not so followed in CR (...as here in Italy, too! )...
