I was a little surprised with Kevin and Jenna's comments as I don't believe the majority of skaters do believe that the IJS breeds artistic stagnancy. If nothing else the more 'complete' skater has come to the fore.

What I like about it is that those who are able to transgress the confining aspect of the points really truly show themselves as a, as you said, 'complete' skater. I think it's also a great challenge to really make a program your own and to come up with unique aspects that set you apart from the crowd. I personally have enjoyed the challenge.

As someone who has no idea on the details of skating jumps edges in spins etc I quite enjoy the scoring break down but I would not like a skater to move out of the competing sport of skating due to disatisfaction. Hope it does not happen..

Just had to come here what is said about "our" championships here in Finland! It seems, that finnish media was more keen on showing us ice dancing and interviews of S&J than brittish.. Finnish media took quite a liking to them and interviewed them many times and get this; showed everything live! This is not usual, in finnish tv, all you usually get is Formula 1 and ice hockey.. Or cross country skiing. Who watches cross country instead of ice dancing, may I ask?

That's great bkm - sad for Britain though because the ignorant public think skating IS Dancing On Ice, the TV programe. Most ppl think skating is easy when they see celebrities doing it. They have no idea who our champions are or that they equal T&D's national consecutive title record. Pathetic really.

PS I didn't even realise they'd equalled T&D's consecutive record - I was just waiting on them getting 8 titles to beat T&D's 7.
