I can’t imagine that Plushenko hasn’t noticed yet what Stéphane repeatedly has been saying about coming back. I think it’s just disrespectful of Plushenko to ignore that. And he simultaneously implies that Stéphane isn’t capable of speaking his mind properly. We heard it from Stéphane’s lips more than one time – he won’t be skating for medals anymore. And guys and let me say one more thing - I think this shouldn’t be a place to add fuel to Plushenko’s fire of rumours either.

If I want Stephane to come back? A really difficult question... After his retirement I was very sad, because I thought that he wanted to get more from his amateur career and I was sorry about his preparation (I mean his hard decision to go to the USA) and his fighting against the injury which all appeared to be vain and useless, and also because I thought that I will very soon lose sight of him after his retirement. A little later when I saw Tango I had great regrets about this program now being lost for competitions. When I watched Europeans in January I realized that watching competition without Stephane taking part in it actually doesn't make any pleasure to me (as it hadn't done before Europeans last year when I saw Stephane skating for the first time after a very long pause and thought that I got through his skating mad of this whole sport), it's just maximum a matter of curiosity to me now. But now I think I am beginning to take his decision more calm - I am beginning to understand that Stephane as I think has "overgrown" the figure skating as a sport - he can show on the ice something more then the difficult elements to the music, it's more an art, a dance than a sport. He doesn't belong there any more although it was exciting to see such a difference between him and others, see him winning. As he said once - he won WC 2 times, he has nothing to prove now, he can skate for himself and express his feelings and as I begin to understand that's actually what he wants, he needs now the most. He is no longer a competotor, no longer a potential champion but he remains Stephane Lambiel, he is not leaving us. So I have made my peace with his decision to retire and enjoy watching his skating in shows. ...Well, if I want him to come back? I would like him to have the Olympic gold medal, to fulfill his dream (he has really deserved it) - I would like him to come back for it. So generally I am for his come back. But now it is impossible, and I don't care who will take the gold in Vancouver. But if Stephane decides that his injury has healed and he can make his last competitive dream come true I will be the first one to support him
digitus quintus , you are right - I deleted the part about Evgeni, he doesn't deserve to be mentioned here

[/s]
Charlottte, I know it's off topic and yet, what is it all about, this little gossip?
Ooops. It's just kidding, I meant Yagudin's affair with Tatiana Totiminiana. One thing that really makes me a little sick is that Stephane ALWAYS gives positive opinion about Evgeni while others don't, and it's Evgeni suspecting his integrity? Anyway, before retirement Evgeni used to praise Stephane, as far as I could remember.

I thought I was the only person who didn't want any come backs. His skating is so wonderful now and he looks so happy that my only wish is it can stay like this for long time. And the injuries to heal. And I'm impressed by his attitude too, it's not what everybody is capable of (as we see by comparison). I found Plush's comments amusing rather than provoking anger. It's funny he ignored the current world champion and other strong skaters and focused on injured and retired Stephane as his major threat for the Olympic gold. He must think highly of him. And he lives in the past.

I think Plushy should mind his own business, work and concentrate to his preparation and leave Stephane alone. I don't see the point. Why does he have to speculate on things like these? With Stephane in competition or not shouldn't change a thing. he has to give his best in any situation and not report himself to other skaters....he does'n have class at all Mean Plushy :-j.....I never liked him anyway as for me, big day tomorow. this year i'm finishing high school and I had to do a final project about America or Uk. I chose to speak about Figure Skating in USA and I'm a little sad I couldn't write about Stephane. Anyway I mentioned him in some lines in connection with Johnny ;D ...now I'm writing my presentation....wish me luck and also thanks to all for the articles, pictures and videos

The management confirms once again that Stéphane has no plans for a comeback and is not on the list for the Grand Prix Events 2009.

I would like to see him back on the ice. ;D

It is not that fun and exciting to watch competitions without Stephane. But we all accept his own choice and wish the best for him. It is good for artistic skaters as Stephane and Jeff (who is looking into becoming a choreographer in future) that they have things to persue after retiring from the competition. And Stephane is doing very well as all of us know. About what Reut have mentioned on phycological tortue before Olympic gold which Yagudin has experienced - it's a hard thing, but if a skater wants to go for that he would do it. In other words it was much harder for Yagudin not to compete for that. I just hope that Stephane won't shorten his skating life by pushing himself with pain killers today.

Probably yes, but it looks with red rose somehow more dramatic, than with the white one. Thank you very much digitus quintus for this interesting interview! So he did a bike tour in Orléans .... and speaks again about hips problems. Maybe someone has time to translate it.....

Here it is Stephane, it’s your first visit to Orleans. What do you think about this town?I arrived the day before USO gala, Friday. I think this town has a lot of charm, a beautiful architecture. It has a history, I felt good instantly. I have even done a bike tour. Why did you accept to come here?I don’t use to come to clubs’ galas. But, I felt that the organizers were doing a lot of effort, that they really wanted to do it right, and that they put a lot of love in this gala. When I had been contacted I instantly said yes. When I was 12, I had the oportunity to participate at Philippe Candeloro’s show, in Geneve. This is for me an unforgettable memory. Today, I want to share my passion, my experience. I want to give to young people desire to skate. You have stopped the competition at 23. Why so young?Psysicaly, I didn’t have the weapons to continue. I wasn’t 100%. I have hips problems, I have a disequilibrium problem at lombars and adducents. Since you stopped the competition, did you ever feel the wish to come back?I was already missing the competition the day I left it. I knew it would be difficult, but I didn’t have a choise. Even at 90% physicaly, it is impossible to win important titles. Today, the galas make possible for me to continue skating without being exacting with my body. (he trains 1 hour every day, contrary to 4 as he was doing when he was in competition) You have a great career, with 2 world champion titles. But you have never been olympic champion. Is this a big loss for you?You must accept what you have. I gave all my best to win. But, it comes a time when you have to listen your body. I don’t have the gold, but for me, this silver medal has the same worth as my world titles. Many great champions didn’t have the chance to win an Olympic medal. Well, I don’t regret anything… What are your relations with Brian Joubert? We are all competitiors. It is difficult to have real friends among your rivals. My relations with Brian weren’t neither more bad nor better than with the other competitors. After galas, how do you see your life?I haven’t seriously thought at this. For the moment, I dedicate myself to galas which give me the opportunity to live my passion, and to travel, to discover new cultures, which is very important for me. Stephane, what can we wish for you?Health. sorry if there are any mistakes
