I had quite a few hours no internet connection at all and this exactly when Olys were starting . Hubby worked to fix the problem the entire Saturday till into late night . And now we have it luckily back again and use now my Sunday afternoon to catch up all the news here on AS . ------------------------------------------------------------ I decided earlier today that I will be changing the banner to "William Tell" after all. Quite a few leaves fell off the “Otoño Porteño” silhouette, and it will be a lot easier and faster to remove it totally and start over rather than to repair the existing design. I'm in a big time crunch, so I'm not sure I'll be able to post any pics before I head to Vancouver. WOW! - Wish you a lot of success to finish the new banner like you have it in your mind in time! Hope you had Good Luck and found the needed material immediately in a fabric store, swissmiss! - Will wait patiently for the first pic of your new banner !

The banner revision is finally finished! I was able to find the right color material for the WT costume - at least it's close. I saw this one bolt of fabric and thought to myself, "Is that green or gray?" That's how I knew it was the right color. Besides the costume change, I removed the maple leaves and replaced them with apples with gold arrows through them. I don't think anyone will be able to see the banner on TV unless they allow us to hang them up. I'm so far up in the "nosebleed section" that it looked totally dark when the cameras were pointed up there. From what I saw in the pairs' SP, they're not allowing people to hang banners from the edge of the second tier - a really good place for them, IMHO. sm

swissmiss - I'm relieved to know that you finished your banner before midnight your time :. Your description of the new part of the banner sounds very good! Yes , it's a pity that banners can't be hung up. (But for Olympic events I can somehow understand this rule as the same venue is used for different skating sports. - On the other hand I have not a lot of understanding when this happens during usual figure skating competitions or championships as in this case a venue has not to be shared with other sports. Or, if they provide a place for banners and it is on the roof of the arena where banners can hardly be seen. ) However, I hope that someone of Stéphane's entourage might recognize you with your banner, Kat. I'm sure there will be some more banners for Stéphane at BC . - I'm so happy to tell you that our family banner will be there too . It happenes thanks to some good circumstances during EC in Tallinn. Once it was clear that swissmiss will have own tickets and will be able to take care of her banner herself, I saw a way that our banner might travel to Vancouver. However without the help of another very good soul who I met in Tallin and agreed later to support Stéphane with our family banner, it wouldn't have make sense to send our banner to Kat . Thanks a lot, my DEAR OTHER SOUL for your help! It's so kind of you!!! So the way was free and I sent my banner to Kat. and our banner arrived at swissmiss's home in time (now nasty custom this time ). Kat will now carry our family banner to Vancouver together with hers and give our banner there to this person who will held it up. Thanks KAT for all you help !! In fact we feel not only grateful but also entirely gifted that our family banner will make it to Vancouver for supporting Stéphane there too. That let us feel as part of us is there, though we all will be sitting in front of the TV during men's competitions like most others here on AS. .

The pewter medal swissmiss made for the banner appeared to be the most useful
